Supermarket applications … how to progress beyond the questionnaire?

Any hints and tips would be welcome. DC applying for pt work for what seems like the millionth time but doesn’t get to interview stage. Assume being filtered out due to the multiple choice questions. Any tips - some of those questions, all the answers seem right!

Could be volume of people applying. My daughter applied for quite a few - she got called by a couple of supermarkets for interview.

They were a nightmare those questions - some there never seemed to be a best / worse answer. Or there were two really bad and she never knew what to put last.

Is he limited on the shifts he says he can work? I always assumed they would filter out the less flexible.

What has he put on his CV?
DS only applied to Tesco and McDonald's at 16 like all his friends, a few got jobs, most didn't at both because they just didn't put anything on their CV.

I think there's online help for how to get through those questions - can't remember if it's on Facebook or Twitter but have a google!

I read on here once that you should go for the answer that doesn’t involve getting a manager to help. Can you remember any of the questions OP?

I know someone who got a supermarket job recently (they took early retirement and wanted something PT).
I saw the quiz (they applied/were offered at three supermarkets so must have done something right!) and the general rule with the quiz questions (they were all very similar) seemed to be to help the customer as much as possible but don't hassle your supervisor/manager.

Yes I agree, anything that puts the customer first is usually right even if it means stopping doing something else. Includes taking customer to what they were looking for rather than giving directions. Look at their company values online and match answers to these.

This is really helpful thank you, especially choosing the answers about not bothering your manager! Completely flexible re days and hours, no other commitments so more hours the better. CV shows previous part-time retail experience in a small shop and some waiter/bar work (both as a student).

Will point them in direction of company values, hadn’t thought of that!
