What do you do if you don’t drink/smoke/overeat/other addictive behaviour?

I’ve worked hard to stop smoking, I don’t drink to excess and I’m trying to keep my shopping habit under control. But what the hell do you lean on when you’ve given up all the fun stuff?

Snap. The question has never occurred to me, and I've had my share of trauma. It just doesn't occur to me to have an "drink/cigarette/sugary food/drug" or whatever when somethin shit happens. I just don't link the two. I wonder why - it's a really interesting question. I don't generally treat myself though or I really struggle so i wonder if the two are linked, I don't feel I deserve things so am more likely to deprive myself than go the other way .

I'm not totally teetotal but like the op and yourself don't drink a lot.

Interesting. See, I definitely do do the 'oh God, what a rough day!! Need a piece of cake/bar of chocolate and a cup of tea in peace when the kids are in bed' mindset, but that's about as far as it goes. And I guess my diet and activity levels outside of that, and the few times a month I get a large takeaway or eat out, balance out overall as I've always been a healthy weight.

I substitute with things that don't harm my body (too much). Mainly coffee and TV.
