Is 4 months too young for baby to sleep in own room

Asking for my daughter , her baby is 4 months old and has outgrown the next to me , daughters bedroom isn't big enough for the big cot . All advice says that a baby should sleep in their own room from 6 months to reduce the risk of SIDS . Is 4 months too young?

I had a similar issue. Baby making loads of sleep noises! And he out grew mosses basket. I bought this cot https://www.petiteamelie.co.uk/bedside-cot-nuage-white.html because a full cot wouldn't fit in our bed room yet. I was a bit annoyed at needing to spend extra 200 on a bed he was only going to use for a few months but it got us through to 6 months when he transitioned nicely to his own room.

I will be selling ours soon!

If it's going to be her everyday bed for a few months she could consider either buying a basic foam mattress (IKEA?) or a folding cube foam bed
this kind of thing for a bit more support. I find the latter way more comfortable and supportive than a blow up bed. She needs to look after herself too.

My son went through a phase of being "too big" for his bedside crib at that age. Now at 8 months and 90th percentile, he still comes back to it occasionally if there's a pressing need.

That age is a bugger for "self settling" behaviours that can be too much whatever size the bed is.

We did it from 4 months with a montitor

We had a z bed fold out chair that became a single. Still useful now, when he's poorly at night and we want to keep an eye on DS.

Plus the cat really loves it, and I can see she's curled up asleep on it as I type.
