Nurses! What would you like as a thank you gift?

My nurse drained my sebaceous cyst today, it was so disgusting but she was so kind and considerate. She prescribed me the antibiotics and then a follow up. I'd love to get her something...any ideas. I was thinking fruit and chocolate?

(I can't buy alcohol for religious reasons)

Nice hand cream.

An email to her employer/manager stating how good your care was would be very much appreciated. The manager should pass this onto the nurse & she can use it in her NMC revalidation, once she has removed your name/identifying details.
For a nurse to re validate every 3 years, they need several pieces of patient feedback & this would be perfect.

Do you know if it's a similar case for a GP? Mine has been absolutely bloody fantastic and I'd love to give feedback if it can support reviews.

This!

Agree with the thank you email. I would find that more than enough.

If you do want to provide a small gift, some nice chocolates, biscuits or handcream are always appreciated.

@FamouslyFrothy GPs have to collect and reflect on formally solicited patient feedback but they can also reflect on informal feedback. Nonetheless, a lovely letter or card will make their day, even if they don’t use it for revalidation!

Thank you so much everyone!

As a nurse, getting to drain your big cyst would be a present in itself. Grin

DreamBream234 · 27/06/2024 11:47

@FannyFifer yes it must have been satisfying and disgusting at the same time!

Deffo chocolates/biscuits.
A card can be used for revalidation and is nicer to keep than an email
