Visit to Kew Gardens

Hi I’d like some advice from people in the know about visiting Kew.
Mum has limited mobility so I’m hoping to do a few hours going into Kew after 4 pm with a cheaper ticket one day, and then go for a longer period the next day, hiring her an electric scooter.
Im after a hotel to stop over for 1 night that has parking (or parking near by) and accessible rooms and not too expensive as it would be better to have a room each. I’m happy to get a taxi from the hotel to the Gardens.
Some of the hotels that have come up
on a search look the wrong side of the river from Kew. I haven’t been so would love some advice. I think I found a premier inn that looked suitable in Richmond but thought I’d see if that was a good idea. Thanks.

Richmond is a good shout for Kew. There are various concessionary tickets as it would be a shame to cut your visit short, it’s huge and a lovely p,ace to hang out o a nice day with a picnic.

Yep, Richmond isn’t far from Kew Gardens - a very short taxi ride or there may well be buses - and is a nice area with lots of eating options.

That Premier Inn is on a very, very busy road, day and night - it might be fine but I would check reviews to see what the soundproofing is like. I took a look at the website and it says that the parking next door to the hotel is very limited - again, do check if you will be guaranteed a space as Richmond is covered with permit parking only zones, with busy traffic wardens zipping about.

Also, you mention the hotels on the other side of the river - there are quite a lot of newish chain hotels over that side of Kew Bridge and it’s only a shortish taxi ride. Busy over the bridge at rush hour so avoid that if possible.

There’s a Travelodge in Richmond itself which is near a multi-storey. It’s also on the road, but it’s not traffic thundering past and quieter at night. It’s close to quite a few restaurants and cafes and, depending on your mother’s mobility, not too far from the lovely riverside or Richmond Green.

just check that there’s nothing major on at Twickenham Stadium when you are planning to be there as that has an effect on hotel availability all around .

What about somewhere in Brentford?
