What's the best postal service for returning a PIP form these days?

It's been a while since we had to do one.

I remember a time when signed for or tracked services allegedly slowed them up because the had to go via a bill processing site. The advice back then was to obtain a simple proof of posting chit.

I'm thinking that's changed but I'm a bit hazy.

Does anybody know please?

Start your own thread. Or even better, ODFOD.

I would use Special Delivery. Pricey though.

I used recorded delivery for my sons, but do keep a photocopy just in case. You can track the delivery that way. It took about twenty weeks for his application to be processed.

I use Signed For.

For me, the difference of a day or two in them beginning to process it (which won't be quick anyway), is unimportant compared to the danger of them claiming to have lost it and causing the award to lapse.

Recorded delivery always.

And yes to keeping a photocopy.

The last time I had an absolute nightmare with them sending a follow-up letter claiming the form was heading for overdue. I sent a photocopy of the photocopy, also Signed For. They sent another letter claiming the form was overdue.

I finally got through on some Chat function and they said, "Oh yeah, we received it fine, we just haven't started processing it."

Okay so definitely one of the tracking services. Thanks so much everyone. 🙏🏻

Actually I think I need ink for the printer/copier. Thanks for the prompt on photocopying too.

I missed what the troll said. Energetic little critter, though, by the looks of things. Grin

This is a renewal. It looks like they want it back this week for a renewal date in January. So they're allowing plenty of time anyway.

Yes they did that once years ago. It was a PITA to sort out.

Okay, thanks again all!
