She’s got the funds and the time but we’ve not got the first idea where to start?
We’ve been on holiday and a family to Australia and dd liked it so much she’d love to go and have a gap year and potentially work out there at the same time, any advice tips or personal experiences would be gratefully received, thanks

I my experience it takes years, literally to obtain a visa!!

Many years ago my sister went via a scheme that was called "Bunak" or something.
I will Google....

It's "bunac".
Contact them. It's an organisation that arranges working visas for 18+ year olds.

This is a good place to start.

That's for more permanent visas, especially the Aged Parent visa.

Working holiday visas are much quicker. Couple of months, I think. I have friends who did it, admittedly some years ago now, and they really enjoyed themselves.

My DS1 did the 1 year working visa, and had a wonderful year.
However he did bring back his Aussie, married her and now lives permanently in Australia... ( we adore her but it is SUCH a long way away) !

Once she has the visa it’s pretty easy. If she just wants one year she can do pretty much anything (doesn’t have to work if she doesn’t want) anywhere!

It’s probably worth thinking of a couple of places she wants to go “in season” where she might be able to get temporary work.No point in being in Darwin in the wet! I would recommend going somewhere outside the standard Sydney and Melbourne typical sites- she will have more fun and in regional areas there will be opportunities for interesting work and people to hang out with.

Does she have any work experience? Any thoughts of what she would like to do? Prep a CV and stay in hostels and people will have ideas of what’s around.
