Weird to go to a birthday treat for myself on my own?

Just seen a lovely concert near me on my birthday. I can't think of anyone I know that would enjoy it. Is it weird to ask for someone to look after my son so I can go? I never ever ask for childcare but after a crappy birthday last year, I wouldnt mind doing something I enjoy.

Also I am a bit worried I will find it lonely on my own too

Not at all - go! I recently had a birthday which I completely ignored, coz I think birthdays are a bit weird. But when I do treat myself for any reason, I am always more than happy to fly solo - that's part of the treat, tbh.

Hell yes, sounds blissful. I'm going to an obscure opera by myself for mine and can't wait!

Have an amazing time OP! I love doing things by myself - I’d rather that than go with someone who is coming for the sake of it. I’ve been to a few shows and podcast recordings by myself and loved it.
