Just that really, ours charges £3 pp and limits to 3 per family over all show nights. Wondering if this is normal?

Yes. It’s to help pay for decorations/costumes etc

FuzzyStripes · 17/06/2024 07:44

Yes, although ours just asks for donations so people usually contribute a lot more than £3. We are limited with tickets as well because they want to make sure all the children are able to have someone watch them, which isn’t possible if several families bring lots of people along.

Our school charges for tickets and also asks for donations for tea / coffee and biscuits (which are offered before and after the play)

There's a limit of 3 tickets per family, but younger siblings don't need a ticket if they're not using a chair.

Fairly common then!

Our school doesn't charge and usually limit it to 2 people per family. We provide our own costumes.

ARichtGoodDram · 17/06/2024 19:11

DDs school do because they found when it was free people would take the max amount of tickets they could (usually 4 per child), but didn’t end up using them.

Now people have to pay they only book what they really need.

mum2jakie · 17/06/2024 19:13

Yes, kids first school have been charging for over 20 years. They are very strict too! No ticket, no admission

TippedOverTheGravyJug · 17/06/2024 19:14

No. But we supply costumes ourselves

Invisimamma · 17/06/2024 19:16

This year was the first year my dc's has charged, previously it was a donation at the door.

It was £2 each, max 2 tickets per family.

PuttingDownRoots · 17/06/2024 19:18

For the end of year play, yes. £2, 2 tickets per performer, then tickets go on open sale after the performers have had a chance. Its on for three nights.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/06/2024 22:49

No to paying

Allowed 2

Depending on character either school provides costume or we do if simple

Slofter · 17/06/2024 22:51

We do donations. It pays for the script, the licence (which you pay for every year regardless of whether you already own the script and music) and the odd prop.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 17/06/2024 22:54

There's a collection for church and a raffle for the pta by no charge for tickets.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 17/06/2024 22:58

Our school issue 2 tickets per family free and if there's spare seats after that then they're sold for £3 each.

Eta: they sell tea and coffee and usually do a tombola or something too.
