Making money on Vinted and eBay

I have recently started putting a lot more time and effort into selling on Vinted and eBay in an attempt to make much needed extra cash. I'm aiming for £500+ a month. I have made approximately £250 in the last 3 weeks, but do any succesful sellers out there have any tips for me please? What sells best, where to source stock, does anyone buy in bulk and sell on? pricing strategy etc? It would be so much appreciated. Thank you.

I am going to follow your thread as I'm interested as well.
One question from me is there any tax implications.

Morning. I sell on Vinted. The best thing to do is know your market. So if you're selling accessories, you can buy factory bulk boxes on eBay. Of accessories from either Claire's or whichever brand. And then you sell them at a slightly higher rate. So some boxes cost £70 some are less. So then you need to consider the value of the the total lot and then figure out how much net worth you want. From post and packaging.

Also nice packaging really helps. I always add a tiny bag or haribo and a nice hand written note to say thanks. Good luck x

@Jemimahj thanks! I was discussing with my husband yesterday that I should invest in some decent packaging and maybe a printed thank you note for each purchase. Do you have any tips of where to buy best value packaging please? I have just oredred my first bulk buy of cosmetics so will be giving that a try.

Amazon or Etsy. Always make it personable. It really helps you distinguish yourself from others ☺️. Good luck

I made a good £800 monthly selling on eBay in the past.
Here are some tips;

List on a Thursday for 10 days to finish on a Sunday.
Look at TV schedules and adjust your timing , the Sunday of a Strictly final or similar will never bring good results.
Write a detailed description with any relevant measurements, weights etc, do not use the AI option.
Be honest in your description, make sure everything you post is clean.
For clothing do every measurement, chest, waist inside leg, arm, inside arm etc.
Spend time on photos, I used a mannequin and photographed against a plain cream wall.
For jewelry and small items I made a light box by covering a cardboard box interior with crisp white paper.
I save boxes, brown paper bags etc for packaging, I also purchase about 50 assorted size plastic sealed bags from an eBay seller..
Package well, post on time and I always add a note saying “thank you for purchasing from me, if you are happy please feedback if not then please contact me immediately.
Finally, I have had a lot of scammers, only ever use the GSP to post overseas and keep every receipt from th eRoyal Mail, Evri etc.
Never post to any other address even if the buyer requests it.
Ebay always favour the buyer!

I used to buy from auctions and charity shops, my best deals were a Man’s morning suit bought for £10 and sold for £170 and a pair of Italian leather holdalls bought for £45 and sold for £450.

Good luck.
