Do you think this is cute? Or OTT?

I think just the shirt and shorts would be nicer. And drop the black socks, they're awful (if that's what they are).

addler · 15/06/2024 05:34

Agreed. The bow tie is ok too, but not with the socks and waistcoat.

FridayNightGin · 15/06/2024 05:36

I wouldn’t have put my child in it. It looks impractical and uncomfortable.

Agree that the shirt and shorts would be fine.

It look very uncomfortable for him.

Procrastinates · 15/06/2024 06:07

For a family birthday party it's hugely over the top. To be honest it would still be over the top for a toddler at a wedding. Chuck him in a smart non character polo shirt and some trousers that aren't jogging bottoms instead. He will still look just as nice and will be a lot more comfortable.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 15/06/2024 06:08

I love it - apart from the socks.

Florin · 15/06/2024 06:16

I think it’s gorgeous but would drop the socks. If he is happy and comfy enjoy dressing him in cute outfits while you can and take lots of pictures before you are fighting with a 12 year old who is trying to wear baggy jeans to a smart occasion.😂

myfavouritemutant · 15/06/2024 06:18

I mean it is technically slightly OTT but toddlers can rock anything and it’s definitely cute. I’d go for it!

Hotttchoc · 15/06/2024 06:19

It's really up to you. I think maybe shirt, tie, waistcoat for a wedding but probably unnecessary for a party. It's your call though.

ConfusedGin · 15/06/2024 06:23

A lot depends on the context of the party no? A formal, surprise 60th, it might be fine but I would drop the bow tie and expect the waistcoat off after a couple of posed pics.

A 4 year olds soft party and pizza party, wildly inappropriate.

iAmBarbara · 15/06/2024 06:24

Not my style. Always think babies dressed too formally (in suits/bow ties etc) looks incredibly tacky, fussy (and uncomfortable!) but that’s just completely my own opinion.
I agree that just the shirt with the shorts would look much better.

Sharrilanda · 15/06/2024 06:31

Depends.

Is he going to his great Grandfather’s Birthday Parade, or the local soft play?

LostSightOfLife · 15/06/2024 06:32

Is this something you are considering buying for your own child to wear to an upcoming party? Or is this how a child arrived at a party you recently attended?

Lillieloola · 15/06/2024 06:36

Am not a fan. Just a polo type shirt and cotton trousers will look great.

Hopingtobe4 · 15/06/2024 06:36

Depends on context of party, where being held etc. Agree with prev posters though, regardless where it is doesn't need the socks, they date it.

Whothefuckdoesthat · 15/06/2024 14:25

Not really my cup of tea. It’s a bit formal for a family party, I’d lose the waistcoat and bow tie and untuck the shirt. But toddlers are gorgeous and can make anything look cute. Apart from those socks; they are bloody awful. There’s not a toddler on earth who could make those look good.

I hope this is either your child, or one from the clothing company website, and not just a random kid at an event you’ve been to!
