So sad when we have to make "the decision" for animals..

My DD's lovely childhood pony died today. She was 33, and her time had definitely come, but oh, it was sad. She was a better parent than I was some ways, and dd learned so much from her. Best impulse buy I ever made!

That is sad :( What was her name and what colour was she? Will you keep a horse shoe or a snip or her tail?

Sorry for your loss ,losing a horse / pony is always very difficult . Our sons childhood pony is 31 this year and just starting to show her age .

Oh very Sad when you say make the decision, I;m guessing you had to have her euthanised ?
Sometimes you do need to make that painful (for you and your DD) decision for the wellbeing of your beloved animal.
If your pony was telling you "it;s time" then yes you need to read her signs and do what is right .

33years old though is epic.
That will leave a massive PonySized hole in your hearts .

@Mishmashs She was grey and her name was Spirit. She was barefoot, so no shoe, but yes-a snip of mane. And dd picked a little posy of buttercups from her paddock and she's kept the wrapper of her last packet of polos!

She had been happily pottering around chatting to people over the fence until this week when she suddenly started to go downhill. She could have gone on a little longer, but better too soon than too late.
