It won’t. The opposite will happen once Labour are in government and start to fail and are held to account.
Farage is simply a focal point for corralling support against the status quo. Once that level of support reaches a certain size then they’ll look to formalise a realistic opposition party.
There is huge voter apathy at the moment. Labour will win a landslide despite 60% of people not voting for them. There is a huge vacuum ready to be filled by a populist party.
If Farage and the Conservatives can agree a way to move forward as a single party I think they’d be very hard to beat in 2029.
I’m fairly confident the soon to be Labour government will very rapidly decline into being one of the least popular in living memory.
