Ds 9 diagnosed asd at age 4, clearly has adhd too, starting a special school in September after 4 years of battling for his ehcp. Whole thing has been a nightmare. Anyway...
School put in a referral for adhd to paediatrics last June , had a letter a few weeks ago saying ds is on the waiting list, today I got a letter saying he has an appointment at the local health centre with dr so and so, and it says to bring an age appropriate toy that ds can use in the appointment.
Why would this be ? And would an adhd assessment really be at a local health centre?
When he was diagnosed autistic this was at nhs hospital for things like that.
Can anyone share their kids experiences with getting assessed ? I thought it involved a proper dsm (sorry can't remember the correct name for it)
