Anyone below 8st/5ft3" - question re bath size

If you're below 8st/5ft3", could you please measure your bath and let me know the overall length (including lip), also if it's a P shaped bath. Can you easily stay put when you're in it?

I've only used our present one about five times in ten years as I just slip into it, unless I hold my legs tightly to the sides or hold side with my hands. Never had this problem in homes before. I suspect it's down to volume of water verses my weight (ie long and a P shape needs more water) or the length as my feet can't reach to the end. We're having new bathroom, so trying to work out the problem.

You need a Japanese style bath Smile

One of the reasons I haven’t had a bath for years, is that, unless I sit upright, which isn’t relaxing, I slide down and it’s hard to get back up again. Showers are my friend now.

Sorry, it doesn’t answer your query, but I sympathise. Would you be able to try them out in showrooms?

Look at the Arezzo bath on Victorian plumbing. That works for a Slim 5’3 person. it’s freestanding though

Thanks for our replies and suggestions. Ideally, we need a fitted bath we'd like a shower over it.

Why don't you buy a non-slip bath mat? I have a suction cup one that goes the whole length of the bath and prevents slipping.

I have the same problem. Currently looking at ideas in Wickes/EasyBathrooms brochures and there are different length bathrooms - 1500 or 1700 - if a shorter one would be better. Unless you've got someone really tall in your family, might be worth thinking about a 1500mm one.

I put my child's bath support thing in the bottom and have my feet against that. My husband is over 6ft so no way we were getting a smaller bath!

Buy one of these and don't have the water deep enough to float around in it.
