Do you sell on vinted?

If you do could you give me some guidance on pricing?

I've read an understand their pricing advice but when I look on the app for how other people have priced, there is a massive range and I don't know if it's been on, hours, days, months without trawling the listings.

So seasoned sellers, how do you do it? I obvs don't want to undersell but nor do I want to over price and have it hanging around for ages.

What's your tips for finding that sweet spot?

I've came across a consignment seller. You pack up your unwanted stuff and send, they photograph, list, pack, send and everything else for 50% of sale price. I'm seriously considering it.

I would, perhaps, like to give it a go myself first.

Give it a go yourself. I just go with what I feel I'd be happy to sell it at. Usually depending on its quality. If it's used and no tags is top can go for £4-6. A dress maybe £10. If it's unworn and a label, bought the wrong size for example maybe more. I sold a pair of boxed up shoes from Next for £20. Usually I find that when I upload lots of things I get Interest quite quickly. After 2 weeks though I don't really hear anything but just leave it up there.

I've got bnwt boux avenue bras with 2 x briefs for each. Like how would you price that? Would you sell separately or combine the bras and pants as sets?

I definitely overthink!

I tend to underprice just to clear things but held firm on a couple of items that were good labels and in mint condition. List honestly, describe any defects and you’ll be fine. I buy on Vinted too but I do expect a bargain!!

Kangarude · 08/06/2024 17:25

I just price what I think it’s worth. The auto suggestions are very low. It depends on the brand too. I sold quite a lot of Boden tops in very good condition for between £10 - £15. If they don’t sell in the first 2 weeks, I reduce the price.
Your wardrobe (things you’re selling) very quickly disappear from views unless you upload every few days.

Brand new with tags seem to sell very quickly. Most of my stuff has been worn maybe once or twice, but I always get positive feedback from buyers.

Justbetweenus · 08/06/2024 17:29

I’ve been selling quite a few things that I won’t wear any more - mainly designer labels but some high street. Generally I list for about 25-30% of the cost price, I guess. Vinted always suggests a ridiculously low price (I ignore) but most of my items have sold. If there’s no interest after a couple of weeks, you can always drop the price. And then it’s dead easy - buyer sends postage label. Don’t pay 50% of your proceeds to a third party!

Vinted suggests what price to list items at so I just go by that.

ClonedSquare · 08/06/2024 17:41

I sell things for what I'd be willing to pay for them, factoring in postage and fees. I also factor in the minimum it's worth me going to the drop off point for. If something is too cheap to be worth it, I bundle it with other things.

Most of the stuff I sell is my son's clothing so it goes very cheap.

They're pricing advice is rubbish. I list things for 10x what they suggest and it sells fine!

That's the opposite to what I've found. I started off doing that and things didn't sell so started following their advice. I've made hundreds of pounds so I'm really pleased with it.

Spuddled · 08/06/2024 18:42

I think I'll give it a go. It's the organisation, I'm not great at it. Better in my pocket than someone else's!
