Can UC pay towards a part time Nanny?

I am not quite sure what I am asking really.

I need childcare from September when I start my new role. It is shifts so need somebody 3 days a week to do 6.15am - 8pm. So school drop offs and pick ups, clubs, weekends, school holidays, occasional over night etc.

It is too much for a childminder so thinking of a part time nanny. I will get UC top ups for the first 18 months of this role and then once I move up the pay banding, I should be self sufficient financially.

I have used UC childcare years ago so I am aware that they need to be OFSTED registered etc (which is tricky in itself).

I have found 2 potential part time nanny's but before I start conversations with them, I want to check this is something that I can use the UC childcare element for? If not, I need to go back to the drawing board.

Thank you in advance.

If they are ofsted registered I can’t see why you wouldn’t be allowed to use them, why would UC care wether it’s a nanny or a nursery I guess.

As far as I'm aware, yes Uc would pay, asking as they're ofsted registered .
