Should we cancel our holiday tomorrow?

We're meant to be travelling to Turkey tomorrow for a week to stay at my in-laws flat there. The forecast is 37 degrees and sunny every day. We're travelling with our 3 year old who has a recently diagnosed sun allergy - she gets a red rash on her face and goes quite puffy and itchy. Rather than having to spend the whole holiday indoors, we're thinking about just cancelling and staying home with her instead. My in-laws will be disappointed but I'm just not sure we'll have a good time. Should we cancel?

Sun allergy is shit.
I know people who have moved to less sunny places just because of that.

I think I’d still go if you think you have a good enough handle of how to deal with the allergy.
I would also look carefully at a travel insurance. You dint want to go there, need treatment/see a GP because of it just to find out you aren’t covered!

With a 3yo and 37oC, what were your plans that weren’t indoors?

Im wondering how much avoiding the sun will actually affect your plans.

Most people in hot countries are very good at avoiding the sun & seeking shade.

Get long sleeve swim top & hat for pool/beach.

I came back today and it was hot but I was ok in the shade or inside. I have red hair and fair skin and do get sun rashes.

Get the specialist swimsuit cover spf 50 plus same with flappy cap

Did you leave it too late to order before?

We were in Turkey last week, it gets dark quite early on

You could go on a boat trip and sit downstairs, plenty of soft play places that are indoors

I think that would be horrible to put your DD through, so personally, I would cancel.
If she has a sun allergy she could end up with a prickly heat rash in hot temperatures and that would be horrible. Child comes first in this scenario.
