Still in my fleecy hooded dressing gown. The light cotton summer one for drifting round the garden deadheading on a warm spring summer morning….stuffed back in wardrobe.it’s fucking freezing here.

13 is not mild for June.

13 is cold, that's not June temperatures. (well obviously it can be but the average is warmer) - there's also a 'fresh' north wind here which is dragging the temperature down to 10.

I've got my winter coat back on - with its lining. Though to be fair I haven't done it up yet...

Bah humbug.

candle wankers.....that's very good.

It is at 7am

I haven't worn a coat or jumper for weeks apart from the odd use of a coat to keep rain off, it really hasn't been that cold here in the SE. Just not much sunshine. Sunday was perfect, sunny, 22° with a breeze so it didn't feel too hot.

It's 13 all day where I am, with a feels like temperature of 10....all day. North west.

Thanks for the user name! Laughed out loud when I saw it!🤣

Cold and wet here on coast of Wales, grey heavy skies yesterday and today and forecast the same for the rest of the week.. the heating may be on for a short burst to dry the sodding washing
Fairly fed up with it now - and it’s only 12 weeks til September😱

WishIMite · 04/06/2024 09:03

Haha so true. It was the warmest spring, so I assume that's why it was also the wettest.

Met Office is basically saying June will be grey and damp and it might be better at end of June. Well that's basically three weeks before MN starts saying "It's the summer holidays: it always rains!" and then it's the candle wankers saying how cosy it is and then Christmas.

BAH

Oh yes how could I forget the cosy brigade?!

RuthW · 04/06/2024 12:04

Three times is good. It's not even summer yet. This is spring weather.

Iwasjustasking · 04/06/2024 12:05

It’s 14 degrees and chucking it down here (West Midlands) I am so so fed up of the rain, so fed up of it!

user411966691966 · 04/06/2024 12:13

My neighbour has just returned from India where she has relatives and it's scorching out there, hardly any rainfall for ages and they have water shortages, she said there was a scramble when supplies came. And there I was, grumbling over the garden fence that it's spitting again. Felt awful afterwards. Maybe I can put up with some rain.

Abracadabra12345 · 04/06/2024 13:03

@user411966691966

Yes that does put it into perspective doesn't it? I bet they'd love to be in a position of complaining that it's not hot at the beginning of June.

I'm in the SE and it started off really humid and sticky even early in the morning but is now lovely, dry (so far) and fresh

Abracadabra12345 · 04/06/2024 13:17

Exact date UK weather to ‘feel like 30c’ as humidity makes temperatures feel even hotter
Temperatures are set to reach 28C in parts of the UK this month, but forecasters say the weather will feel even hotter due to the sweltering humidity that is also due.

The first 28C day of the year is forecast, with temperatures due to rise to 26C by June 13 in parts of East Anglia, the Midlands and Wales. London is expected to see a high of 28C that day.
Most of England is due to see high temperatures, with 25C highs predicted for the East of England, Norfolk, Sussex and Essex."

It will be interesting to see how true this is!

I am one of those candle wankers (dare I mention cosy blankets and hot chocolate....) but its* *only nice to be cosy after a long, preferably hot and dry summer!!
There is no difference in the seasons at the moment, we had 13 degrees with light rain in December - exactly the same as we have today.
It's depressing, I want to be able to get up, throw on a nice dress and some sandals and set off for the day, I'm still wearing my winter coat.

Yeah, it does depend where you are, but here in the SE today it's 18C and not much breeze so tee shirt and sandals are fine, it would be nice if the sun came out though.

LBFseBrom · 04/06/2024 16:23

Summer starts in June and it is only the 4th! The temperature isn't too bad at the moment. You'll have plenty of opportunities to wear it.

BMW6 · 04/06/2024 16:25

Come down to Hampshire OP - too hot a couple of days ago, overcast today but certainly not at all cold.

We've had generally good weather since mid May

Sparticle · 04/06/2024 16:29

North west here too. 13 degrees currently and I'm wfh with thick woollen jumper on, oversized hoody, blanket on my knees and we even put the heating on earlier.

Oh rain from drizzle to torrential tropical downpours today too.

Sick of it really.

In the NW here unfortunately, 18C is dream!! I have been stood watching my daughter at her hobby tonight, the wind was howling and it was bloody freezing.

Whereas I took DS to his on Sunday and had to find some shade to sit in as it was too hot in the sun.

BogRollBOGOF · 04/06/2024 21:39

I'm still waiting for summer 2023 to arrive...

"The hottest May since..." has made me laugh. No there was no hot, it just wasn't clear enough for temperatures to drop at night.

Currently wearing an oodie.

It went down to 12⁰C when raining earlier- I've known warmer in December.

Evenstar · 04/06/2024 21:52

Our heating came on earlier 🥶
