Godchild bday present idea

It’s my goddaughter’s 21 birthday in a few weeks and I’m wondering what to get for her. I don’t actually know her that well. I could just give money which I’m sure will be appreciated but I don’t have any more interesting ideas!

Any 21 bday suggestions? Thanks

Are you in separate countries?

Because to be honest, if you’re in the same country, you kind of had One Job - to get to know her as she was growing up.

If that really was impossible then perhaps a gift that brings you closer together over the next few years?

I bought my two godsons premium bonds for their 21st. That is, I gave a cheque (minimum £100) and an application form as you can't buy bonds for other people (apart, I think, from children or grandchildren). I couldn't actually force them to buy the bonds, and I don't know if they ever did, but I thought it was a slightly more exciting present that just cash.
For girls, maybe jewellery. I bought my goddaughter a Monica Vinader necklace which had a "charm" with something that reminded me of her from her childhood. Or something from Tiffany.

What a strange takeaway. You know nothing about me or any background. It’s just a post asking for present ideas, no need to turn it in to something it’s not. Honestly, sun’s out, take a day off.

Gifts like jewellery or art are so personal, you could easily get it wrong. I think I'd get her a voucher for a fancy restaurant - enough so she could take a friend/boyfriend.
