Got a bit carried away buying
cheapy cheap stuff on their site but actually it’s ok - received my order today. The only downside is the barrage of emails & Watsapps with offers. I have:-
3 rings which fit well ( 1 is adjustable). The”opal” one is very pretty.
A necklace with a “ moonstone” which looks like a marble - it has a glow in the dark constellation. Chain seems pretty good quality too.
Cushion covers with peacocks.
Suncatchers - one robin, one tree of life
Cute glass nightlights - one with stars, one with a rabbit looking up at the moon. They need USB plugs so can’t test the quality yet.

Clear plastic fridge boxes were really good.
Slippers very comfy
Soft sided Storage boxes, very good.
Colander/rice washer, love it.
Veggie slicer (my mum loves it)
Window film for privacy works great.
Nylon hand luggage, very nice, sturdy, good zip.

RabbitsRock · 01/06/2024 23:34

Anyone else?

Quite a lot of things tbh. So much cheaper than Amazon!

hair ties

So much craft stuff. The uv resin is fantastic as are the silicone moulds. Vinyl for using in a cricut machine. All great!

Glitter gel colouring pens - lots of colour pay off. There’s a company on Instagram selling them for £15ish!

a privacy stamp for covering your address on parcels. I reuse boxes for selling on Vinted so it’s great.

Dog collars. Literally the same ones I spend £15-£20 on Amazon

Cuticle cutters

Reusable cotton pads

I also love getting my price adjustments and no return refunds when things are shit.

Clothes. I was wary at first but all my tops I wear from there I get asked where they are from. Some can be a weird material but most have been great

mommatoone · 01/06/2024 23:55

Had a great experience so far! Bought a revolving stand thing for make up / perfume.
Garlic crusher (I know🙄)
A lovely denim jacket - I was a bit wary on sizing but read the reviews and it was fabulous.
Bloody love Temu - quick delivery too.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 02/06/2024 00:00

Roundy scoopy half spoon half spatula thing. Genuinely don’t only what I did without it!

Giggorata · 02/06/2024 01:05

Magnetic spice rack shelves, which I use on the sides of filing cabinets in the study and in the van.
Magnetic hooks, also used in the van, when I go camping.
Stacking metal racks for canned drinks, which I use for tinned food in the pantry.
Cheap and cheerful car seat covers and floor mats in mad hippy colours and patterns.
Under sink pull out rack
Dish drying rack
Peel and stick wallpaper, great for covering boxes and in the van.
Peel and stick tiles, some dark green ones that look good on a bedroom fireplace.
Some nice metal pictures and signs

Ohh now you've made me want to go and browse Temu.. I haven't for a long while!

ALovelyCupOfNameChange · 02/06/2024 01:09

I know I sound like a twat but please watch the channel 4 documentary on temu where they test what is in some of the items from temu and it has some worrying results. they don’t conform to British regulations and are dangerous to use.

LiterallyOnFire · 02/06/2024 01:40

Even if what they sold wasn't dodgy, the pollution from shipping vast crates of the stuff round the world would be a crime in itself.

MonsteraMama · 02/06/2024 01:41

Yay child exploitation and slavery!

This. Temu products are cheap for a reason.

There are no good Temu products IMO.

Thevelvelletes · 02/06/2024 04:09

The cheap tat comes at a heavy price.

RulaLenskasHair · 02/06/2024 04:19

You’ve given them all of your data which can be sold on as their data protection is non existent, including probably giving them access to your phone and what you do on it via tracking.

Take a moment to think about the person who likely made your product in slave like conditions and then where all this stuff will go when it doesn’t work / you’ve finished with it in a few years time?

Before anyone says it, Amazon is marginally better on the data front but just as bad otherwise!

FieldsOfFlours · 02/06/2024 07:51

Temu literally sell what Amazon sell. We are shown the negatives of Temu but that’s how most stuff on Amazon, and most stuff in shops, starts.

My PILs are obsessed with Temu. FIL bought something rechargeable - can't remember what it was, maybe a mini vacuum cleaner or something - and the charging lead caught fire after it had been charging for an hour or so. Thankfully it was in the room he was sitting in and he spotted it fairly quickly or the whole house might have gone up in flames. He also had some other electrical item which melted. Apart from the questionable ethics of buying from this company, it sounds as if you could end up burning your feckin house down if you're stupid enough to buy something electrical.

YomAsalYomBasal · 02/06/2024 08:30

Everyone I know who has bought off temu has had some kind of issue not long afterwards - credit card fraud, dodgy packages turning up at their home, scammers contacting them. I refuse to buy anything from there due to the ethics and it's all cheap shite that will end up in landfill in a few months anyway.

I agree Amazon is shocking for allowing untested items through. However, they do have U.K. basis and therefore more recourse.
the things the program shows are heavy and dangerous metals in jewellery like lead, dangerous chemicals in clothing and tools carrying fake safety certificates.
all of those things should be weedled out by Amazon. Alternatively to be sure your not buying unsafe items buy them from proper uk shops. For instance I don’t buy phone charging leads from amazon, as I know they may slip through and might not be tested. Instead I buy a recognised brand from an actual shop.
yes they are more expensive but less expensive than burning your house down

OldTinHat · 02/06/2024 09:33

I've not received a bad item yet!

I tend to purchase crafting stuff but sometimes go off piste and buy things like hanging basket brackets.

Love, love Temu!

OldTinHat · 02/06/2024 09:34

Btw, I always use PayPal for security.

DogandMog · 02/06/2024 09:40

All just landfill fillers.

Be careful with those rings and tge rest of the jewellery.

A jewellery maker bought some cheap jewellery off one of these cheap sites and sent it to the lab for analysis.

The metal contained a high proportion of cadmium. Cadmium can be absorbed through the skin into the body and is highly toxic. It is banned from being used in jewellery in the UK and Europe.

Your jewellery could well be similar

BobnLen · 02/06/2024 09:51

I wouldn't buy anything that was going to be used by children or things that anyone would wear

EveryOtherNameTaken · 02/06/2024 09:55

I've always been too scared to use them for data reasons.
