I'm fucking up the washing . I took 2 wash loads out of the washer stuck it in a basket and left it there for 2 days . I have rewashed the load that in the washing machine 3 times.

Picking up heavy wet washing feels like the end of the world. Hanging it out feels I'm climbing mount everest. I'm so tired and drained without reason

I'm on my own . I have no kids here in sitting silently on my living room. So I'm not even busy. But here I am getting myself into a state over washing.

You're not a prick, just run down. Anytime you feel a bit of energy try to get up from the sofa and put a wash on then sit back down, and likewise for hauling it out.

No I didn't have anyone to help me when ill so got by in a haphazard manner :)

Bit sad really that the very people telling you to go to hospital. Never helped you at home 💐

And yes I have been doing that . I have done 3 sets of washing since I posted. I had something to eat . Each time I have a little energy peak I do something.

@Slapmyself have you been checked for any underlying reason for the tiredness? Can the children help you out with putting it out to dry?

Actually there is a very good reason why I can't ask for help with washing, I'm contagious! But not for much longer as treatment starts tomorrow! So no-one can touch my dirty clothes before they're washed.

Please have some tests run with the GP, we'll muddle through this 🌺

I was prescribed folic acid for tiredness. Seemed to help at first. But they don't seem to anymore .

Ah ok. That will teach me to make assumptions. Glad your getting things sorted amd hopefully treatment works fast.

I have a chronic illness and find LaundryHeap an absolute game changer. They have an app, I just shove it in a bag outside my front door and magically it's taken away and washed and returned within 24hrs. Costs £20 for a bin bags worth and it comes back dry and sweet-smelling. I send out a load a week now (family of four) and it keeps the washing from becoming overwhelming for me. Have a google and see if they operate near you, they almost certainly do unless you're very rural.

My own room is a bit of a tip. The other rooms are reasonable. Bathroom hallways need a clean

It sounds as if you're feeling very low and life has got on top of you.

In your shoes, I'd do a small wash of underwear and get that dried and put away, followed by the other necessary clothes, in small batches. Work your way through the pile, ending with clothes you are less likely to need in the week ahead.
Small washes always feel more manageable than a massive laundry mountain.

Take small steps. Try to do a small wash and dry every day.

Then take the time to clear your kitchen, beginning with the sink. You can listen to music or a podcast while you work.

You can move on to the bathroom.

Then move on to your bedroom and from there to the other rooms.

Give yourself a little treat every day.

You should consider a visit to your GP to talk about feeling down and unmotivated too.

@Slapmyself oops sorry I meant to say my treatment finishes tomorrow 😳

Then I have to treat the spores, my cleaning equipment is at the ready.

It would be worthwhile finding a sympathetic doctor to go through how long you've felt like this, what you're finding unmanageable and that the folic acid only helped temporarily.

You're not alone though, many people have a slump and struggle to pick up the reins again and it can feel insurmountable. Start small and do what you can when you can.

I have done all the washing that was in the kitchen. It was all in a heap from where I kept washing and leaving it etc . And making the kitchen look bad. But I have done all that now . I just need to put about 3/4 items in the dishwasher empty the bin and wipe sides down . It will take just 5 mins or so .

Living room is tidy. I do need to hoover though.
