Preschooler's last hurrah

Eldest starts school this year. Usually in nursery FT but I am able to take a few days off in the coming weeks to do some 1:1 activities.

I want to make the most of what feels like our last opportunity to do things cheaply & away from the massive crowds. A holiday is already booked, and we'll likely do something like Legoland or Chessington one day. We'll also no doubt have some quiet days & I don't want to overschedule us, just get some inspiration!

What would be on your list of things that are much better Off Peak?

Disney land

Places like trampoline parks as its quieter in the week and cheaper during 'toddler times' make the most of these months xx

We did Legoland on a toddler and parent ticket.

I also liked the stuff at the London museums- science museum did a fab preschooler session.

What about local parks and other open spaces, as you note, without crowds?

Busy museums, if you are near London, the Natural Histoy is a disaster in the holidays

Zoos

Theme parks - we went on an inset day and the differences were astonishing

Thanks for the suggestions! Theme park is definitely on the list, and the toddler tickets seem like good value (am also hoping we don't have to fork out for the queue jump stuff if it's a quieter day!)

Disney would be awesome but might be worth waiting and doing it in a couple of years and going as a whole family.

We are in London, so will add nat history & science museums to the list and have a think about others they'd enjoy.

We've never been to a trampoline park so another one to check out too!

Postal Museum! That was such a good experience for this age

Be mindful that these sort of places can be overrun with school trips at this time of year. What is supposed to be a magical day out with your DC one of the eldest you expect to be there can quickly become a nightmare if their are marauding hoardes of 6 & 7 year olds who are probably all delightful individually but carried away with excitement at actually being on a school trip. Also, the Scottish schools break up at the end of June and then many of the private schools in very early July so everywhere gets busy then. Although not as busy at August.
Having given that caveat, Bekonscot Model Village is brilliant if your DC is into trains. You can get the train from Marylebone to Beaconsfield and walk from there. Legoland & Chessington are definitely worth doing. Various farm parks like Odds Farm, Beale Park or Godstone can be a day trip from London. What about Hobbledown?
