So it's about two women one older who is on the shelf. She might be a companion.. another much younger woman who may or may not be out but is an heiress. The younger woman meets a young man she's rather enamored with. Older woman thinks she's meeting this man and approaches him to tell him off for romancing the younger woman for her fortune. Turns out she's actually meeting an older man of the same name who has recently returned from India having nursed a young man on the voyage. Anyway everything turns out well in the end with younger woman ending up with man who was nursed on the voyage and the older woman with the older man who effectively elopes with her.

I'm about to go on a flight and would love to read it again.

Love Cotillion, Freddy was one of my first crushes 😂 (I was a huge bookworm as a child and read all my mum's Georgette Heyers when I was probably a bit too young.)

The quiet gentleman, the reluctant widow and the grand are my go to reads

I haven’t read The Reluctant Widow - must track it down.

I was rereading this last week! Black Sheep, as others have said.

I'm now half way through another favourite - A Civil Contract.

I love the stuffy rector forgetting himself and cheering Freddy for a good hit.
