If you worked shifts when pregnant

Particularly a lot of night shifts, do you think it affected the way your baby slept once born?
I did a lot of night work when pregnant with dd and she was a terrible sleeper.
No shift work during 2nd pregnancy and that baby was a much better sleeper.

IMO it makes sense but no idea if there is any research to back it up!

Anyone?

No, I worked shifts with my eldest and she was a brilliant sleeper. 9-5 with my youngest and he didn't sleep for 2 years

CrotchetyQuaver · 30/05/2024 14:27

Nope, worked standard 9-5 they were both tricky sleepers, did get better as they got older thankfully

FriedGold · 30/05/2024 14:28

Nope, did night shifts throughout and had good sleepers 🤷‍♀️

I don’t think so, I did night shifts and DD was generally a good sleeper apart from when she has having regressions

I did nursing right up to 9 months including nights. My son slept so soundly right from birth that I had to set the alarm 4 hourly to wake him up for a feed and he wasn't happy about it.
I was concerned about his sleepiness at the time but he is 41 now with a degree and a good job, he still likes his sleep though.
The heth isitor said she'd never seen anything like it.

Ah well bang goes that theory then 😆😆

I’ve never worked a night shift in my life and my second baby was the worlds worst sleeper, just the luck of the draw
