Bad morning breath

Every morning I wake up my breath is very bad , I'm scared to talk unless I brush my teeth first thing .

I've been to the dentist as asked if my teeth could be causing it , he said no my teeth are fine and just to make sure I floss as it can help .

I don't believe I have tonsil stones and I've tried mouth tape (it did help a bit but I can get sensitive skin) .

It's getting worse as I get older .

How can I Combat this ?

For the past year or more my dh developed very bad morning breath - also during the day too at times. No teeth issues and definitely not a hygiene issue he uses a water pic and mouthwash. Now I don't know if this is coincidence but in the last few months he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. He started taking metaformin and a statin plus now not eating crisps and sweets every night. His breath is back to normal. No idea if this is a coincidence.

DDS is right about flossing. If you brush am and pm and floss every night, and get regular professional cleanings and exams, you won't have bad breath (unless there's some sort of medical condition).

I had the same until recently. Naturally I wanted to get rid of it as obviously not a nice thing to have.
The following are what I have been using for about a week now and cannot smell any bad breath!
I use twice a day in the following order;
Floss
Brush teeth
Tongue Brush
Tongue scraper
Water flosser
Mouthwash ( Alcohol free)
I use the floss after meals too.
You can buy most things cheaply from Home Bargains if you have one near you. The water flosser I bought for around £7 off Temu.

It could be your gut. Any issues there?

If it is your gut how do you combat that?

It could be silent reflux. That made my breath terrible

Definitely try brushing your tongue. I was amazed at what a difference it can make.
