Having buyers remorse over Kitchenaid - tell me it’s worth it!

It’s such a lot of money, but I do cook and bake loads and the thought of not having to hand knead bread swayed me.

Tell me you love yours so I don’t have a panic and think I’ve wasted £400

Yes it's brilliant

It struggles with a lot of dough. We have a pizza oven it can cope with up to 1000g of dough otherwise it really struggles

Yes the beater with the rubber edge is much better than the all metal one

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 27/05/2024 22:38

Well mine is coming up to about 30 years old and still like new, it’ll be well worth the money.

whoknows1230 · 27/05/2024 22:40

I’ve had mine a couple of years now but only really use it for cakes, meringues and buttercream.

I have the paddle beater, dough hook and whisk, which I think are the standard attachments. What other attachments/accessories do you all rate as I’d love to get more use out of it? which attachment would you use for coleslaw?

WhataPithy · 27/05/2024 22:43

I mainly use mine for shredding chicken breasts and it’s totally worth it!

Mossstitch · 27/05/2024 23:10

Love mine, had it for at least 15 years and use a lot but I've had to stop using it for bread as it began to struggle, so i just use it for cakes and scones now as was frightened it was going to break altogether.

ObliviousCoalmine · 27/05/2024 23:13

Love mine. Essentially an heirloom.

LifeExperience · 27/05/2024 23:43

I've had mine since 1990, use it regularly, and it has never needed a repair and still runs perfectly.

therealcookiemonster · 28/05/2024 00:01

if you use it, it's fine! I don't want to disclose the amount, but I spent a big chunk on my kenwood. I had been wanting it for ages and finally when I moved a couple of years back, I finally had the space for it.

enjoy it, don't feel guilty!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 28/05/2024 00:06

Also had mine 15 years and its as good as new.

Although it's not used daily, I've worked out that it's initial outlay has 'cost' less than 50p a week at this stage of its ongoing life.

Buyers' remorse? On a KitchenAid? Surely not!

Mine is so beautiful and strokeable, used by DH far more than me as he's the baker in the family, but a wonderful piece of kit.

The only regret is that I chose a classic cream one. It's lovely, goes with everything, but I really would've liked a beautiful pastel colour. DH persuaded me otherwise and he was WRONG.

Nat6999 · 28/05/2024 01:51

Ds bought one second hand off Facebook Marketplace for £100, he loves it, he loves baking & uses it daily. I've promised him I will buy him some more accessories for it for Christmas.

I got mine during covid, and it is my absolute favourite thing. I use it probably 3/4 times a week during the holidays (teacher) and every weekend during term time. I make bread, cakes, scones, cookies, pizza dough etc. it makes me happy every time I look at it ❤️I took it on holiday last year when we went to Suffolk 🤣

Theothername · 28/05/2024 07:46

@muffin21 I used a 2p rather than a dime

LongSinceGotUpAndGone · 28/05/2024 07:51

I was reading an article about Mary Berry the other day and she said hers was the one kitchen thing she wouldn't be without.

I’ve gone for ‘milkshake’ but everything else in my kitchen is white so hopefully I won’t regret that 😅

It’s coming on Thursday so I will post picture of her in all her glory.

Ah the buyer's remorse was before it had arrived! This makes a lot more sense. Glad you like it OP!

LongSinceGotUpAndGone · 29/05/2024 17:21

Lovely, timeless design and the neutral milkshake colour will go with anything, should bright purple or lime green kitchens come into fashion in years to come.
