QOD · 26/05/2024 18:59

divorce

His argument is that it's just like mixing ketchup and mayonnaise together so technically it's cabbage and carrot in seafood sauce, not coleslaw and ketchup.

Ltb

That's why when you have a bbq the coleslaw and the ketchup go at opposite sides of the plate so they don't mix

Rebusmyfire · 26/05/2024 19:07

Blurghhhhhhhh

Nah I get his reasoning there. But he'd have to mix it pre sandwich

KetchupOnColeslaw · 26/05/2024 19:08

Does it make a difference that ham was also involved? 🤔

That changes things. It was a ham sandwich with coleslaw and ketchup...

Depends if the ham was a barrier between the coleslaw and ketchup?

I just asked this so as to provide clarity for you.

Ham was not a barrier.
Ham, coleslaw, ketchup then folded in half. So one piece of bread.

Apologies, his wording was ketchup drizzled on top.

He is cracking up at your replies.

Mustard is the correct condiment to go with ham

Ketchup is only acceptable In a sausage or fish finger sandwich

If in doubt the correct approach is always "What would Nigella do?"

FadedRed · 26/05/2024 19:47

Is he pregnant and having strange food combination cravings?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 26/05/2024 19:56

Nothing wrong with that.

I often combine things that a 'softy' wouldn't naturally put together, I suspect they were never a student living in digs.

(I wasn't either but I just don't like seeing a jar or bottle that clearly needs 'using up')

I wonder if Heston Blumenthal has a similar thought process?

pizzaHeart · 26/05/2024 19:58

I wouldn’t tolerate this in my kitchen. The way is ham sandwich and coleslaw on the side and NO ketchup.
If he wanted to increase his 5 a day and be colorful and creative he could do himself strips of red pepper.

Agree. Mixed first then maybe he can stay.

If he'd spread the ketchup on one piece of bread, then the ham, then coleslaw between that and the other slice that would have been better.

I just think it would make a really soggy sarnie!

NoWeaponsOnTheTable · 26/05/2024 20:03

I would absolutely eat that.

K0OLA1D · 26/05/2024 20:09

Did he butter it?

Spudthespanner · 26/05/2024 20:27

You lost me at coleslaw sandwich

LlynTegid · 26/05/2024 20:29

Ugh (pulls a face).
