Sore Throat Test & Treat Service at pharmacies

My student son (20) has suspected tonsillitis so we googled some options and came across what seemed to be an NHS Sore Throat Test & Treat service at pharmacies. He found an appointment locally for tomorrow (bank holiday Monday) which is fantastic, but it cost £20. Does that mean its a private service or an NHS service? If private, and if they decide he needs antibiotics, will it be a private prescription rather than an nhs prescription? I'm interested to know how much a private prescription might cost him.

Private prescriptions for common medications like antibiotics are usually very cheap - under £5 from what I can remember.

A few years ago I got antibiotics on a private prescription because I was going on holiday and couldn't get an NHS appointment. I got an appointment with a private online doctor. The prescription charge was something random like £6.83. It wasn't any more pricey than an NHS prescription - it was a bit cheaper I think (although the appointment cost about £50)

Yep private prescriptions for things like antibiotics tend to be cheaper. I had one from dentist for Amoxicillin and Metrodinazole and one was £6ish and the other £3ish.
