Someone has just posted this anonymously on the local FB community group. Not only a brilliant example of vaguebooking but a subject close to all of our hearts.

Disclaimer: I have toilet brushes in my house, couldn't care about what other people have in their homes and have never given a moments thought to loobrushes in public places.

this particular mumsetter issue seems to have gone over my head.

Are we anti toilet brush now?

Of course we are anti-toilet brushes. Would the sophisticated, slim, stylish French lady use a toilet brush? I think not.

Is this the same anti-carb, chain smoking french lady with the impeccably behaved children?

I see....

My MIL has a toilet brush. It’s minging

SensibleSigma · 29/08/2024 16:07

I’m in need of new toilet brushes. I’m looking at the silicone ones and wondering. I really like the ones with the little tuft near the top to get under the rim.

gluedlip · 29/08/2024 16:10

How does one clean their toilet without a toilet brush?

SensibleSigma · 29/08/2024 16:14

It would seem some people don marigolds and scrub below the waterline with a sponge. But then you have marigolds and a sponge that have been in the toilet.

And I use the brush every day after I , erm, use the toilet. I’m not getting the marigolds etc out daily!

Does she mean from public toilets because I can't remember the last time I saw a toilet brush just randomly enjoying a pint in Wetherspoons.

GalileoHumpkins · 29/08/2024 16:27

I did see someone on IG cleaning her toilet with some weird scrubby rubber gloves on, she took them off and then put them in the bathroom sink which seemed a bit grim.

RedFolder · 29/08/2024 17:10

Assuming one is using bleach or other germ-killing substance - the rubber gloves and cloth/sponge will also be covered in said substance. Thus, are clean and germ-free.

I guess the same could be said about the toilet brush, however I have seen too many stained brushes with soggy toilet paper trapped between the bristles to ever want to own one.

A question I have also wondered but never had clarification on 🤔

There have been many heated
discussions on the merits or otherwise of toilet brushes on here over the years but I haven't seen one recently. I am pro-brush.

I was out today and was waiting somewhere with a woman carrying a Roka bag and wearing saltwater sandals and the same thought crossed my mind, must be a MNer.
