Daughters harassed by older boys on outing

My mother popped by earlier to see the girls and she always brings a small gift for when when she arrives sweets make up etc but on this occasion she gave Rhein a £100 each apparently it’s to make up for not seeing them for 2 weeks because she’s going Benidorm.

The girls have been wanting to go gravity for quite some time but with money being tight I’ve not had the funds to take them unfortunately.

while my eldest was waiting or the bus she said there was older boys making sexual comments about them both something along the lines of “I wonder what one takes the better pounding” I told them just just ignore them and call me when they get there.

after they arrived and paid the group of boys unfortunately was attending it is well
through out the evening the boys kept making comments after the paid for something to eat my youngest needed her shoes tied (dyspraxic) whilst eldest was doing her shoes one of the boys come over and said “cooorrr that’s something to think about later” (obviously looking between her legs)

after they was leaving one of the boys decided to slap my youngest bottoms luckily one of my friends sons saw what happened and got involved and kindly gave them a lift home

i am just absolutely disgusted at the minds of teenagers these days

@Saschka one million percent 😎

I suspect she’s referring to the fact that, instead of going out to the bus stop to accompany her daughters when she knew they were being sexually harassed by older teenagers, she’s spent her time on FB finding out that her cousin’s friend’s hairdresser knows the brother of one of the boy’s mum’s exes, and apparently he’s always up to no good.

I wouldn’t have phrased it quite like @Bumblebee907 did, but it does come across as somebody trying to start a beef with another family, rather than trying to protect her daughters from being harassed.

This.

Like many people- I really don't understand why you didn't go to the bus stop or the venue, or why the girls didn't come home or report to the venue. No girl/ woman should have to be harassed- ever (obviously) but it can also be a teaching moment for you, to use when to escalate a situation, as that's not something you supported them in doing on the day

Pickled21 · 27/05/2024 07:35

If you overheard it on the phone you should have gone out to check up on your girls. If they aren't at an age where they can tell boys to stop being arseholes then you should have been there to do it for them. This is poor parenting.

Scarletttulips · 27/05/2024 07:37

Maybe it’s time for self defense lessons?
These boys saw your daughters as an easy target.
I taught mine some come backs and they were quite good at standing up for themselves.

It’s not victim blaming we all have a responsibility to keep children safe, but they could’ve spoke to a staff member, they have a duty of care - it wouldn’t have taken much for a member of staff to speak to the boys and get them to leave.

Do phone the centre and ask for the CCTV or report the boys for their behaviour, or speak to the boys you know mum - she’ll know the others.

Whatever you do, do something, boys get worse with age and the amount or porn they watch is disgusting.

Angelik · 27/05/2024 07:40

@DispleasedMumof2 you should've gone to your daughters immediately. Their safety should be paramount.

@Bumblebee907 you're a bit of judgemental c**t, aren't you?

Very confusing harnessed, Rhein and not much punctuation .
Glad other posters have been able to shed light on what was going on…
I was envisioning reins being put on the girl…

I don't know what 'Gravity' is but assuming it's a venue for young people, you should report the assault and get them to check their CCTV.

You left your 12 & 14 year old daughters alone even though you knew they were being sexually harassed right there and then for a prolonged period of time?
Did you not even think to tell them to report the boys to a member of staff at the venue?
Personally I would have been at that venue like a rocket was up my backside....
