Does anyone else find her constant tears such a cheap cop out?

I would get a ban if I posted what I REALLY think of that woman.

Vile. VILE. VILE!

And yeah, her 'tears' are not because she is sorry. Only because she has been caught. Prison for the lot of them yeah!

The Times' view is that her strategy at the enquiry is to apologise, deflect, and if necessary plead ignorance. Coming over as incompetent is a better option than admitting being a criminal. All the same, she is now open to being charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice - a very serious offence that should carry a jail term. But will it in her case? People like her seem made of Teflon.

Dry up Paula, it's risible. Take your lumps. Try to remember you have this chance to right a terrible wrong.

I know people on here don't like the Mail but Jan Moir absolutely nailed Vennells with this

Vennells' memory is selective, to say the least. Perhaps it will win her another CBE, this time for devotion and services to obfuscation. 'I don't remember,' she would say.

More verbatim gems from my notebook: 'I wasn't consulted about that; I do not recall; I wasn't involved in that conversation; I personally did not know that; I'm not sure, it is not a term that I would use; I wasn't told about it; I didn't see it; I'm not entirely sure; I have no recall of this at all; I don't think so; that is not what I understood; I don't know that I can answer that question; I don't believe so; to be honest, I don't know; I wasn't involved; I can't help you; I don't know; I don't remember; I don't recall; I don't remember having any conversation about that; I'm not entirely clear; my recollection on that is that I don't recall it; that I cannot remember; I'm not entirely sure; if that conversation took place at all, I wasn't involved in it; I am not entirely sure; I don't recall making a conscious decision.'
^^
It is amazing how someone with such a powerful lack of recall rose so high up the corporate ladder. Or perhaps she really is, in the mocking words of Jason Beer, 'the unluckiest CEO in Britain'.

What the hell WAS she being paid for? and does she really think that this is going to get her out of the shit? as for the tears - spare me. Everyone can see right through that little act

The tears were so fake and put on. Vile corporate criminal. She came across as such an incompetent dullard but I suspect that’s what she was aiming for.

Did you read her email to her Post Office chums about the suffering post masters/ mistresses on the One Show?

Yes - her smug, sneering tone made me feel sick.

Regarding the blessed Paula
I’m intrigued about the female perspective on Paula. Most of her victims and detractors are/were men. To me she tries to occupy the priestly high ground and uses this halo to neutralise or deflect criticism. Not victimhood but sainthood. She is brilliant at it. Paula managed to corrupt the system and destroy countless honest families. Her level of denial under cross examination from KC Jason Beer is breathtaking. Have a nice day.

Were they mainly men? Many sub-postoffices are run as part of a family business, so whilst it may have been the men whose name the post office was in who were falsely accused, women suffered too.

Also many post offices are run by people of south Asian heritage.

Absolute nerve of the woman. Crocodile tears.
