Who to vote for if you are disabled?

Certainly not the Tories after being on the pointy end of the decline of the NHS, DWP persecution and the hostile atmosphere whipped up by media and party.

But I’m not sure Labour is any better with their approach to disabled people. The narrative that everyone claiming PIP is a work shy layabout hasn’t been categorically refuted. They haven’t even pointed out it’s an in work benefit.

I’m not sure you have any other choice than to vote Labour as no-one else is going to get a look in. Vote for them and actively lobby your MP to vote against discriminatory policies. That’s my advice.

Thanks. It’s the realisation I’m coming too.

What the situation in your constituency? Maybe tactical voting would be useful.

I was having trouble dealing with the DWP for my brother when he had a life threatening condition. He had worked all his life and never claimed any benefits then he developed a serious illness which even though he was lucky to survive it’s left him with a severe disability and he’s unable to work. The DWP messed him about that much that it was having an even more negative effect on his health and added even more stress to our family. In desperation I contacted our local Labour MP, they couldn’t have been more helpful and sorted the issue out in a couple of days.
