Long journey car essentials / nice to have

Spending a morning tied to the house so am (over) planning an upcoming series of long car journeys.

Adults only, no children. Will be staying in hotels so it's really just what to have in the car to make journeys in between more comfortable and to not have to go looking for essentials en route

No special requirements for things you have to have in the car (eg warning triangle/ vests for France - but will have those with us anyway, along with petrol can & first aid kit)
This is where I've got to:

Tissues
Baby wipes
Water bottles - small & large
Flask & cups
Toilet roll
Sugar free sweets / mints
Sun cream
Lipsalve
Hand cream (specific to me as I always seem to get dry hands when travelling!)
Cool bag for sandwiches / snacks
Map book (sat nav failure + no signal for Google maps = don't rely on tech! From bitter experience)
Small bags to use for rubbish (eg nappy sacks)

Anything obvious I've forgotten? Or not so obvious but you've found useful?

Thanks

Cushion/pillow/blanket for the passenger.
Book/magazine again for the passenger.
Anti bac hand gel.

Cash.

A whole picnic set inc small board and sharp knife because I often buy a container of salad or fruit. I have one and it has been so useful for me. The other half of the bag holds a lot of your list so quite tidy.

Five litres of water, radiator coolant and windscreen washer solution. Gardening gloves and a mat if you end up needing to get dirty. Sunhats for yourself and a reflective visor for your windscreen.

Don’t forget you can burn terribly through a car window. I keep a large, l/sleeve, zip up rashie in the car and driving gloves. Everything can just be slipped on and off.

I've just had a weekend of long car journeys and I haven't had any of these things. 😂

The main things I can see being useful are a water bottle and something to make coffee/tea if you want to avoid stopping and spending £4 per coffee. A small jetboil type camping stove, for example.

And a usb cable for charging phone.

We've best part of 3 weeks so just trying to pre-empt the essentials/comfort factor based on past experience.

Thanks all for the suggestions
