How to not worry about the future?

Does anyone have any guidance on how to not worry about the future?
I'm such a worrier and always think negatively. Even when things are going great. I'm in my mid 20s.

For example, I always worry about being kept on in my job. But even if they didn't, there are plenty of jobs out there.

I worry about not being able to afford a nice flat, when realistically, I'll get something decent as I earn well and it doesn't need to be £1mil.

I worry about whether or not I will stay with my long term partner. What will be will be, and things are going well so far.

My issue is that I am very very ambitious and a high achiever but I'm still a worrier. I never think of the best case scenario, only the worst.

I tend to ask myself "what does worrying about this achieve?"

Does worrying solve the problem?

Does worrying change anything?

Does worrying make you feel better or worse?

Honestly, you'd really benefit from some CBT to challenge your thoughts and thought processes.

Remember, you can't predict the future so why waste all that energy worrying about it for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

This is absolutely me OP. Anxiety and ADHD - my mind is a constant whirling dirvish. Been a worrier since I was little.

Sounds like you've got anxiety , I get anxiety but in other ways

Only thing you can tell yourself is that you have no control over the future , and you're worrying about something that hasn't even happened. Try and focus on the good things if you can, day to day stuff. We all have our worries but don't let it ruin the now.

Oh OP, I'm much older than you and this is basically me. It's very hard and I'm trying to get CBT for myself.
