Do you have a skinny but muscular husband?

Where on earth does he buy his trousers?

DH has a 27 inch waist but big quads. He’s not bulky, just a runner/cyclist. He thankfully works in shorts mostly (self employed, manual job). He’s had a couple of pairs of Levi’s but even then he’s managed to wear through them in a year.

He constantly looks scruffy and dirty. It’s fine for work and hanging around the house but he needs some clothes that aren’t smeared with oil. I (and he) just have no idea where to buy them to fit! There are athletic brands but they tend to be £60-70+ for a single pair of trousers and I have no idea if they are worth it.

How tall is he?
Why not use a belt?
Next is where I buy shirts with long enough sleeves for my skinny 6'3" son. But his waist is still at least 30"

I can remember super clearly shopping with my dad (6'4") in mid 1970s when mens XXL meant "long" not "fat". We had to go to special shops even then, but at least XXL meant tall not fat. It drives me nuts that > size L now means fat.

He’s 6’3. His proportions are just ‘wrong’ for high street stores despite looking like a totally normal man 😂 (my mum is adamant that he’s 5’10 because he doesn’t ’look tall’)! He has broad shoulders and chest, a small waist and muscular arms/legs. Everything is too short/wide/tight depending what bit of the body it actually fits.

A belt does work, although even then he ends up with quite a lot of scrunched up waist fabric.

2nd hand from TopShop, Primark. DS has similar build.

Try Spoke London. They have different lengths and fits including thigh fits!

You need Scandinavian brands.

Must be really thin at 27 inch waist.

TheAceWoman · 19/05/2024 14:18

Sadly, I do not.

OH is 28" waist but short with it. He buys Levi's as they will shorten to his length. I'm not sure how long they go for your DH and they usually last longer than a year

For around they house he has just started wearing Lacoste track bottoms but they are baggy and make him look a scruff. I dotn know what the answer is as it's very hard to get 28" waist

He’s just lean with narrow hips rather than skinny. You wouldn’t look at him and think ‘gosh he’s thin’ at all. Like he’s obviously got no fat on him, but he looks perfectly healthy.

I don’t know how he does it tbh. But the thigh seams just give up on him after a while! 😂

My work colleague is like this. He's 26 and fit and muscular but has bigger legs. He swears by Olympvs jeans and chinos. Online only.

immchuckbass · 19/05/2024 19:01

My other half is similar.. he wears lots of skateboarding brands.
Element and vans trousers are good!
