When do you brush your teeth?

Having much debate today on tooth brushing, want to get a general consensus to settle some at home arguments.

How often do you brush your teeth?
Do you floss/Mouth Wash/brush your tongue every time?

Most importantly, WHEN? As in, whats your routine? For example, after breakfast and right before you go to bed or as you wake up then in the evening but still eat/drink after.

Brush / floss / mouthwash in the morning + at night, then brush or mouthwash after anytime I eat or drink anything that isn't plain water 😭 it's a bloody nightmare!

Invisiline?

Yes same here. I never used to brush teeth after lunch but would feel grim now to put beck in without Teeth being clean.

There was sone thread about brushing as soon as you wake up but then what do people do about breakfast cereal debree?

I brush 2-3 times per day because I like the feel of having clean teeth

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/05/2024 23:15

I do floss/tepe/mouthwash/tongue scraper, then brush before leaving for work.

After dinner I do floss/tepe/tongue scraper/mouthwash.

Before bed I brush and then retainer in.

If going out in the evening I would brush again.

First thing when I get up

Last thing before getting into PJ's and bed.

I normally just brush, if I have the energy or my mouth feels gross I floss.

I have a water pik thing I use sometimes after a shower, I do it separately to normal tooth brushing because it's a faff and takes too long.

I think tongue scrapers are a con - you're just seeing saliva and phlegm that is in your mouth anyway, it's not stuff that would be sitting around on your tongue all day.

Mouthwash also a bit of a con but I do use it sometimes.

It is important to get something between your teeth. Whether it's floss or an interdental brush etc.

I don't think about cereal debris TBH.

Brush at some point in the morning, usually after breakfast.

Then again, immediately before bed.

I have a metal pick to get between teeth, which i use occasionally.

I'm late 40s and never had a filling.

But what does he eat and drink? If you are having sugary drinks and food or starchy food frequently throughout the day you can brush 27 times a day but you will still get decay.

Fairly similar diet, I eat more veg, he drinks hot drinks with sugar all day, I have mine without
Dentist thinks it's my grinding (I sleep in a mouthguard every night) as he says my gum health is good

Brush first thing, after exercise late afternoon and just before bed.
I use a waterpik each morning
Never use mouthwash

Dental advice is to brush at least 2 times a day. A good brushing when you wakeup. Making sure to get tongue and bacteria that have accumulated overnight. I make sure to brush after breakfast and after lunch so I am the four times a day crowd.

Almost as soon as I‘m up tongue scraper the brush, just before bed togue scraper, interdentals and floss for the small gaps and the brush.
