Lumea on fungal nails?

Hello,

I had previously seen a comment on here about someone using their Lumea to treat fungal nails. I was wondering if anyone else had done so successfully?

My DH caught this last year and has consistently used an otc treatment for almost a year with no improvement. He’s rather avoid the risks that come with tablets if possible, so was looking to see if this is potentially an option (even though I know it’s not advertised for the specific use!)

Thank you

@MaryFuckingFerguson how did you get rid of the broken capillaries? Did you use it once or did you have a routine? Not heard of using a lumea in this way but very interested!

I used it over the course of about 10 days and flashed over it maybe 4x per session, every other day. It completely and utterly removed this obvious patch (which was at least 1cm2) I’ve had for years.

it was actually a user @sisteragatha on here that had previously used it but I never managed to figure out how to get it to flash on nails!!

Hi, I used the smaller attachment, with face on it. My Dettol laundry liquid is anti bacterial /virus so not sure it'd be any good on fungus, you'd need anti fungal stuff. You have to be quite ruthless with socks and shoes! My shoe steriliser was quite expensive (I think around £100) but if I could save a couple of pairs of shoes then it was worth it.

sorry for coming back so late with another question, but do you mind sharing which shoe steriliser that you used? He’s seeing some progress with a continued topical, spraying shoes daily, throwing socks regularly as things are improving, but really need to invest in one of these for his shoes!

Margaret Dabbs is what you need. Foot Hygiene Cream for the fungus and 3 in 1 Shoe Freshener for shoes.

I've used my lumea on my little toe, I just scrunched my hand around the attachment so it was all closed off.

I'd forgotten that I'd done this but actually I've just realised I haven't used any Curanail treatment lately and I've noticed that the nail fungus is completely gone. Usually it rears its head every so often if I don't use the Curanail. So maybe the lumea does help!

You've probably already thought of this but you need to throw away all his socks. Possibly boil washing them might work but that fungus is unbelievably persistent. With shoes, I bought a steriliser for my expensive shoes but I threw most of them away.

I used the tablets which did work but the fungus still occasionally starts up again, if I have nail polish on for a long time and I don't use Curanail.

Can i ask how often did you use it and how many zaps?

After reading this in May I tried my Lumea but couldn't get it to flash. So tried the vicks, it's magic, watching the disgusting nail grow out is amazing:)

Yes, no idea how others managed to get it to flash. Both tried scrunching hands around it etc but didn’t work.

That’s great to hear about the Vicks. How often do you apply it? How much has grown out so far?

I put it on morning and night, and it is about a 8mm up already. It is on my big toe.

I'm using a ilight ipl . Trying it
It states ipl helps so can't see why a flash gun won't work .
It's great on veins . Spider veins are gone .
Also great for ageing skin and age spots . Infact the only thing it isn't good for is hair removal 🤣 so epilate .
