I've got loads in the cupboard. Any ideas that's not pasta bake.

I like a tuna and cheese wrap. Stick it in the airfryer to make it crispy and melt the cheese inside.

I love sushi bowls: microwave rice, tuna, pepper, cucumber, hoisin sauce. Stir and top with sesame seeds and crunched up seaweed. Literally have for lunch every day!

Have just messaged DP to instruct him to make this for when I get home from work (I'm just about to leave!).

Post a pic if you have it!

These are the seaweed thins I get. I usually buy the sweet soy and salt but they are £22 at the moment, last time I got them they were £15 so don’t spend that! I’ve bought the wasabi instead this time.

Lurking for tuna

Tuna and mixed bean salad.
tin of mixed beans
could add - diced onion, pepper, sweetcorn, celery, radish, cherry toms etc etc
olive oil and some kind of white wine vinegar dressing with plenty of salt and pepper

optional feta crumbled on

NeverDropYourMooncup · 15/05/2024 19:39

Tuna, olive oil, lemon, pepper, boiled potatoes, green beans, spinach leaves, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and a fuckton of black olives.

Or leave out the beans and boiled potatoes, add some mayo if you like - or a mango chilli dressing - and a very large jacket potato.

Or leave out beans and potatoes, add red pepper and fill an oversized granary bap.

Tuna quesadillas - mix tuna with some chopped spring onions, sweetcorn, grated cheese and mayo. Spread over a wrap, top with another, and fry on both sides till browned.

This sounds delicious. Do you have the rice heated or do you let it cool?

I use a pouch of microwave wholegrain rice usually; just stick it in for 2 mins while I chop the veg then stir it all and eat it hot.

@Storminagoblet its so good. I also have it with salmon or prawns but tuna is the best.

Tuna wraps.

GrassWillBeGreener · 15/05/2024 19:15

Growing up my mother did a "tuna risotto" that I still like - I suppose it is somewhere between fried rice and a true risotto, because we boil the rice separately and stir it in after cooking the veg. Often make a thin omelette first to cut up and add too. Stir fry onion, chopped carrot, celery, capsicum, then stir in rice, omelette and tuna along with seasonings of choice, I'd put in herbs and lemon juice most often, paprika sometimes. As with other's options, quite good for using up vegetables too.

If you have a rice cooker, you might find you can stirfry vegetables in the bottom then add rice, liquid, tuna, seasonings and leave it to cook itself.

I usually serve with apple slaw and a green salad but add any side you fancy really.

murasaki · 15/05/2024 18:22

Fishcakes go with chips and salad for me.

I like the pepper idea, although not sweetcorn. I put spring onion in mine, but whatever you have available can be crammed in. I've done broccoli in salmon ones before.

A other vote for fishcakes, mix some malt vinegar and plenty of black pepper into the tuna. Mash potatoes (not too wet) with tartar sauce. Add sweetcorn and chopped red pepper and chives. Shape into cakes.up to you if you breadcrumb them or not. Place on oven tray. Spray with oil and bake.

I really like the sound of this - thank you!

What do you serve it with?

Phineyj · 15/05/2024 17:36

Sorry, just here for the brilliant tuna ideas! 😀

AdaColeman · 15/05/2024 17:32

Asian style noodle soup...Make a light broth with Marigold or Knorr vegetable stock, add noodles, sweetcorn, broccoli etc add chunks of tuna at the end of cooking so they don't break up. Flavour with soy sauce, ginger, five spice etc to your taste. (A good way to use up left over vegetables)

Make Salad Nicoise, boiled new potatoes, cooked green beans, hard boiled eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, olives if you like them, and tuna. It makes a very substantial meal.

Tuna, frozen mixed veg and cheese sauce, put in a puff pastry parcel, bake. Serve with salad and new potatoes

Sourisblanche · 15/05/2024 17:13

My dc like cous cous with tuna and roasted veg stirred through. Plus pesto if feeling fancy!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 15/05/2024 17:11

Tuna Melts are good and one of the top favourite dinners in my house

QueenOfTheEntireFuckingUniverse · 15/05/2024 17:07

Tuna rice bake.

Cook rice, can add a softened onion if you aren't feeding my fussy one! Put in oven dish
Cover with tin of chopped tomatoes
Then tinned tuna.
Then a layer of cheese sauce. And cheese if you like.

Bake

SpringLobelia · 15/05/2024 17:04

similar to a pp my mother in the 70s used to make a bechemel sauce, add tuna, added sliced boiled eggs and top with croutons and some cheese. Then put under the grill until bubbling and serve with rice.

It was one of my favourites.
