Paultons park recommendations (Peppa Pig world).

Hello!

Headed to Paultons Park on Saturday (first time I've been to a theme park on a weekend...ever...I'm slightly apprehensive about how busy it'll be! Though weather doesn't look great so maybe that'll keep away crowds).

We're mainly going for Peppa as it's DD's 3rd birthday. Will have two 3 year olds (under 1m), two 5 year olds and four adults. Just looking for any seasoned advise on how to get the most of the day!

So far I've been advised:

  • Head to PPW first, and possibly do Georges Dino ride ahead of everything else due to queues
  • Take a packed lunch
  • If it gets busy go and see the rest of the park and come back during 'nap time'

Any highlights from the rest of the park we should prioritise? Will have enough adults to take the taller kids off and do things with them for some of the time if they fancy that. I'd assume it would be good to take a stroller so little legs don't get exhausted?

Also not sure about taking the birthday girl early for this 9am P&G meet and greet option, anyone have experience? Is it worth it?

We're local, but my youngest is 19 now so haven't been for a few years.

The proper train around the park is fun and restful.

In the other half of the park the dinosaur area has a figure of 8 boulder ride which is nice, and a gentle roller coaster. The seals ride was always a favourite if it is still there. There is a larger splash area on this side too.

On the PPW half the viking boats are good and a good old fashioned carousel.

PPW, the dino ride and the up and down spinney cloudy ride tower thing. Didn't think much of the big wheel, queue very slow moving.

There are lockers to park things in.
There are free ride ons all around the park.

There is a McDonalds less than 5mins drive from the park for when you go home, if you want.

Have a lovely time.

Reiterating than all the little rides around the pathways (like the ones you find outside supermarkets) are free! Took us ages to realise this and would have saved a lot of fuss if we’d known beforehand :)

Penguins.

And, if still there, the 'Kings don't take advice froms' which is what we used to call the hornbills.

Been there so many times have had season tickets for a couple of years.

ppw Is best done first thing or last in the afternoon. The soft play is free as well but it's always rammed. It can get quietish near lunch when everyone is eating. We would do food at 10.45 ish and then again at 2. Snacks and drinks on the go if needed.

The water areas are both decent. We have only done the Ppw one once, since the other in the dinosaur kingdom is much better.

The log flume is toddler friendly and a good introduction to that type of ride. There's the seals and mini diggers as pp said which is great for their independence as they go on, on their own.

They do have an app you can download that has queue times listed and any rides closed that day.

There's also a nice walk from ppw to the dinosaur kingdom along a bridge. Cool shady areas for picnics. The little pkay parks are also hugely fun. In the dinosaur bit there's a huge covered sandpit to uncover dinosaur fossils in.

Food is nasty and overpriced. You're 100% allowed to bring in a picnic. I would stash a soft cooler bag with cans and drinks in one of the strollers (I'm assuring) it's amazing how thirsty you'll get. Ice creams are what you'd expect to pay while there. You can also, get digital downloads of any photos you have on the rides. Much cheaper than paying the actual pic.

**dc absolutely loved the tractor ride. It was always a must and would need be done several times. It's near ppw

Also, to leave the park you have to walk through the gift shop. Never a fun experience!

Have fun and be prepared to hate the Peppa theme song for the rest of your life!

As with all theme parks, first and last thing are quietest. Ques get long at the Peppa section, but are often much shorter in the rest of the park. If you are staying all day then don't queue for 45 mins for a ride, when it will probably be much shorter later. There is a lovely green section by the birds that is between themes and has a pagoda. Great for calming down if over excited. We love it there, it's a great park for preschool and primary age.

We've done Paultons in the rain many times and it's brilliant as it is quiet as most of the season pass holders stay away.

PPW is fairly quiet at the beginning and end of the day. Yes to heading to George's dinosaur ride first.

The little ride on's being free are brilliant.

The train is nice and relaxing. There are a few animals over near the pirate ship - penguins and tortoises if I remember correctly.

You can take in as much food and drink as you like. There are lockers near the entrance but tbh you could leave stuff in the car and get one of the adults to go out and get it if you don't want to carry loads.

Loads of picnic tables, shady spots, play areas. It's a beautifully kept park.

Our favourite ride outside PPW is the log flume which moves very quickly through the queue.

The two big rides - Cobra and Edge are quite thrilling for adults.

The wait to get out of the car park can be bad so be prepared and make sure everyone has been to the loo and had a drink in case you're stuck for a while. Toilets are just outside the exit.

Have a great time 🎡🎢🎠

We had the best day, thanks so much for all the tips. We waited on average about 5 minutes in each queue, couldn't believe how quiet it was; also the wider park is amazing!

So glad you had a good time. The weather today has been perfect, no rain but not too hot either.

Which rides / activities were the best hits?

TeenDivided · 19/05/2024 19:00

I saw a sign today saying now with lemurs?

Can confirm there are lemurs! The whole garden/animal park is lush actually, was a welcome break to the adrenalin. Likewise with the splash zone. The grounds are beautiful too.

I think we'd all have differing answers to the best rides. Mine was probably Buffalo Falls, my 5 year old loved the , the birthday girl (3) said 'again again' to the Raging River Ride. DH went off and did some of the 6+ big rides whilst we were in the splash zone so think they'd be his highlights. I was surprised how brave the kids were. Though I spent a vast part of the day being amazed at how many of the BIG rides were suitable for 1m and up. My 5 year old adrenalin junky LOVED that things like Flight of the Pterosaur and Cobra were okay for him. Tbf the 3 year old is also tall enough, so I was thankful they also had a minimum age as well as height! There was a new ride which opened this weekend, but we avoided that one because the queues were about 25 minutes all day, which isn't a lot at all, but with small kids we opted to avoid any waiting.

Also a really nice touch that there were load of little 'ride ons' like you see outside supermarkets and they were all included. I think kids often wish they could go on them but it's £2 each time or something when you're at a shopping centre. But they could just jump on and go, which they loved.

I think the fact that we were there at 9.30 and didn't leave until 6 says it all. A successful and highly memorable day all round. Saw lots of older kids also having a tremendous time. Feels like you could take everyone from 3-53+ and they'd enjoy something!

I was so looking forward to the sandpit but we spent about 3 minutes in there then the rides surrounding it became too tempting. The friends we were with enjoyed it though. Thanks so much for the recommendation!

We also spent a while on the tractors!!
