Just reminiscing and getting a bit nostalgic today! I was a teenager in the 80s, and had the best time. Was recalling some of the gigs I went to. Who did you see, and were they good live?

I saw, amongst others:

Bruce Springsteen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (6 out of 5! wasn't even a fan before!)
U2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Cure ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Ramones ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Smiths ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Alice Cooper ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Siouxsie and the Banshees ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Iggy Pop ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tom Waits ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Iggy Pop ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tom Waits ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Simply Red ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Didn't like them, went to keep friend company... good show!)
The Pogues ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Mission⭐⭐⭐
The Cult ⭐⭐

There must be others I've forgotten!

What were your good (or bad) gigs?

Wow! I probably saw you on nights out in the 80s then! Maybe in Lorenzo Marques, or Johnsons or the Warehouse!

Summer of 84 concert at Wembley. Elton John was headlining. Kool and the Gang, Nik Kershaw, Wang Chung and Big Country were also playing. Great day.

My real concert going heyday was in the 70s though when the Glasgow Apollo was the place to be. Saw so many there from Blondie to Eric Clapton, Thin Lizzy, Tom Robinson, Dire Straits and loads more.

I've rediscovered going to gigs and have just seen Simple Minds and have booked for Mike and the Mechanics next year.

Norugratsatall · 14/05/2024 23:05

Level 42. It was a long time ago and tbh I can't remember much about it. We were right at the back, it was a good night I suppose.
