With the price of everything going on
could you make £20 last you daily?
family of 4 two adults 2 children under 7?

Yes I could get the food shopping (including toiletries and cleaning stuff) under £100 per week.

Add on transport, housing, and utilities... no I couldn't get those for the other £40.

If just food then yes £20 is fine.

For food only then yes will last for maybe one week though.But including toiletries and cleaning products probably not.

I could definitely do a weeks shopping, every meal included for 4 people for £140

But if I had to factor in petrol and bills and all that other stuff, then no chance could we live on that!

For food, yes, that's loads actually. There have been times I've had 20 to last for a week of food and managed (although nutrition went out the window).

If it's for everything then I couldn't manage that.

Our rent is 74 Euros per day, before bills, so, no.

I don't believe we could find a place for 600 Euros per month even if we moved far away and DH and I slept in the living room (2 DC already share a room).

It really depends on what it needs to cover.
Rent and utilities? Not a chance.
Normal living? A third of it would dissappear on petrol to get to work. 100 on food would be doable, but not masses of fun (tho I'm basing this on 2 teens, so 2 primary kids could be fine).
But there wouldn't be much (anything) left for emergencies, school requests for money, or fun.

OTOH, if essentials are all covered, yes, absolutely £20 a day would be fine - although I'd probably spend 0 most days, and splash on a weekend.

Yes it would be more than ample. That's £140 per week. I spend about £80 - £100 per week to feed 2 adults and 3 children. They all have packed lunches each day and me and DP take lunch into the office every day then a cooked meal at night.

For just food yes.

Yes, I think I can be quite an extravagant shopper but I don't think I'd have much of a problem with this (so long as it didn't include household products like cleaning stuff). If you don't eat meat, it's a lot easier too.

For all food, it would be quite easy.

So £140 for a weekly shop, that sounds quite comfortably doable. If the school lunches are casting a lot, might be better switching over to packed lunch, and getting better at taking food/snacks/after bottles out with you.
