DD4 still struggles with some letter sounds such as a hard C (cuh) ... comes out more like a "tuh" sound. And her clarity isn't always great.

We repeat back the correct sound to her when she makes the "mistake" and have tried to show her how to move her mouth in a more exaggerated way etc. generally, I would have thought she'd have grown out of it by now.

It's becoming more of an issue as she is able to read now, and pronounces the letter wrong (and even worse, other children in nursery are copying her, because she's a strong reader and is reading to them). Her reading level is quite high for her age, she can read words such as Happy, night, moon, beeping, the, train etc.

At what point should I ask for a SALT referral?? Do I go to the doctor's?

You can ask nursery or your health visitor (as she’s under 5) for a SALT referral but tbh, waiting lists are so long she’s unlikely to meet the threshold for these sorts of issues.

So you could go privately if you can afford it.

IIRC, though, I think the advice is that a certain amount of mispronunciation is totally within the normal range at that age.
