We packed it in at 2 but a friend still has hers up at 4 - is it unsafe should I still have mine up?

Probably about 4 (youngest and he was sharing the room with the 6 year old) just because it played music which he was obsessed with. I can't remember how we managed to ditch it, either he stopped being bothered or it broke but it was gone by 5 I'm sure.

If it wasn't for the music then probably 2 or 3.

Also never had one, and DC's went into their own room very early on. Just kept the doors open. I can hear spiders running across the carpet, so never been an issue not to hear the DC's when they needed us.

DC are 7 and 9 and monitors are all wired in but rarely turned on. But they are useful if you can sense they are getting ill or might have a bad night and wake up crying. Also useful as we are heavy sleepers so have them turned up loud!
