Torn between

Chicken in black pepper sauce
Chicken sweet and sour

Accompaniments will be salt and pepper chips and fried rice!

Letting MN decide for us :)

Both, then you can have nice leftovers for lunch the following day. You also need prawn crackers, chicken lettuce wraps and duck in plum sauce.

I’ve never thought to reheat it. Is that safe to do?

I always order extra and have it the next day too! Sweet and sour chicken balls, beef in black bean, chicken and cashew nuts, egg fried rice, veg chow mein, pancake rolls, prawn crackers and if I’m feeling fancy I’ll add crispy chilli beef and some prawn toast/seaweed. I’d never tried salt and pepper chips until I read about them on here - they’re lush! Jealous now!

I have been for years, I'm still alive.

I always reheat it the next day.

TakeOnFlea · 13/05/2024 17:29

Yes it's fine to reheat, I'd never want to reheat the rice but DH does and has no ill effects.

Crispy chilli beef is my go to, and a curry

MotorwayDiva · 13/05/2024 17:47

Fine to reheat, I've also frozen and reheated. So long as piping hot throughout its fine

Absolutely. Colleagues at my workplace are hugely envious if you turn up with cold Chinese takeaway from the night before to microwave up for lunch.

It's really common, and demonstrates you are a 'give no fucks' character who was lazy enough to not only have a takeaway mid week rather than cooking - but to turn up with the leftovers for lunch. Kudos to anyone who does it.

(I do it quite a lot) 😁

Get Hong Kong style sweet and sour if they do it

Chewbecca · 13/05/2024 17:56

What about the chicken chow mein? No Chinese meal is complete without noodles.
Always reheat your leftovers the next day, rice and all. Just make sure it's piping hot throughout and you'll be fine.

At our local Thai restaurant they do a set meal for 2 with mixed starters, crispy duck & pancakes followed by 3 main courses and rice. We end up taking about half of it home, reheating it and it keeps us going for several more lunches/dinners

Noodles are absolutely necessary, chicken is allowed but beef is preferable! (At Casa Sharpe anyway)
And some vegetables too, in a nod to healthy eating. Stir fried pak choy?

longdistanceclaraclara · 13/05/2024 18:27

Neither. Not my taste . I'd go for beef and ginger with spring onion.

Salt and pepper chips don't exist here unfortunately.

TheChosenTwo · 13/05/2024 18:29

I don’t like either! Is it for 2 people? Get one of each.
