Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. Dd2's sat across from me eating her breakfast & I'm just about to take my tablets.

We're off to the coast for the day, hence being up earlier than usual. I'm hoping the weather improves a bit, it's cool and grey at the mo.

I feel like I have a slight hangover though thanks to needing to stay up to walk dd1's friend home after an evening out at another friend's house. Dd1's in the shit for that one - I asked her to leave at 8, with her friend, so that I was in bed at normal time. She argued until 10, then left, so they didn't get back til gone 11 on the last bus 🤬

Anyway, we're going for ice cream and chips 😋, on the train.

It'll be shower and bed for me when we get in. I finished Lucifer last night, so will start my new book tomorrow. The girls will be having early showers and early nights too 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

I've been up for a while already because it's too warm to sleep properly. Had breakfast and watched gardening programmes. I'm pretty burnt out from noise and heat (autistic) so think I need to take it easy today. The birds are already giving me a headache through the open window.😞

Going to do a small food shop and get some treats like ice cream, then chill out at home.

dandelionseverywhere · 12/05/2024 10:25

Church, then going to friends for tea.

WoodBurningStov · 12/05/2024 10:25

Good shopping, sort the shed out and do a tip run. I've been off work all last week so dreading tomorrow Confused

OmuraWhale · 12/05/2024 10:27

Good morning all. I should probably be doing jobs (laundry etc) but the weather is so lovely that I'm sitting on the patio with a coffee, a book and mumsnet. DS1 and DD both have exams next week and are revising, DS2 is away on a school trip. DH is heading out soon to play with his band.

Thinking of you @Downtoyou Flowers

Goingasteady30 · 12/05/2024 10:27

Having a chilled day as possible what with my son having his sats starting tomorrow and me having to drive 130 odd miles Monday morning for a work meeting.

OriginalFloorboards · 12/05/2024 10:30

Just been outside to feed my horses and in a few hours I’ll be riding with my teenage daughter.

Pretty tired from staying up till 1am to try and see the lights, as didn’t know about it the other day.

I’m usually in bed for 9:30 and my body clock still woke me up at 6am!

Enjoy your day OP and everyone else.

CharSiu · 12/05/2024 10:35

A walk in local fields soon and a family dinner at a restaurant tonight.

Thecatisboss · 12/05/2024 10:38

Morning! Just back from a 6 mile run and got a coffee. Dd unsurprisingly is still in bed asleep.

Making lasagne for dinner, I rarely make it as it takes over 3 hours, simmering - though it tastes fantastic.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 12/05/2024 10:48

Morning all,

I’ve got a quiet and peaceful day to myself, as DD has just left for work and won’t be back until late. I’m planning to go to the park this afternoon for a walk, then will pitch up by the lake to read my book. Having a light dinner tonight of halloumi and beetroot salad 🥗.

Downtoyou · 12/05/2024 10:08

I am waiting for my XH to come over so we can choose some photos with DD for our DS's funeral this week. He died 2 weeks ago after his cancer had spread and was only 13. It's a lovely sunny day here so we will finish DS's birthday cake from yesterday in the garden and then I will probably have an early night.

Edited

I am so sorry for your loss.

Sending much love

Topsy44 · 12/05/2024 11:27

Good morning All. Taking it very easy again as I am still wiped out from this awful cold bug. Will get the basics done of washing clothes, dishwasher etc. but probably not much else. I really should cut my front grass but that might have to go on hold until I’ve got my energy back.

Later on this afternoon I’ll try and sit in the garden for an hour and read some of my book, then will be the usual of sorting out homework, showers/baths and getting ready for work/school.

Downtoyou - I am so very sorry for your loss.

Yourinmyspot · 12/05/2024 11:33

Good morning - just! I’ve had my breakfast and taken my 20 tablets. I plan on spending most of the day sitting in the garden reading and snoozing apart from cleaning the Guinea pigs out and cooking dinner. I’m recovering from a chest infection and still got no energy though I feel much better and finish my medication for it today I’m sure the cure has made me feel worse too!

ssd · 12/05/2024 11:39

Im still in bed, the lazy get i am!!!

Had my tea and toast though..

embolass · 12/05/2024 11:54

Awake from 6 which is late for me. DH and I ended up watching all Eurovision and it was gone midnight by time I got to bed.
Lovely day here, one load washing done and next (DS bedding ) will go out on line next. Some ironing and hoovering and now I’m in garden relaxing on mumsnet , till my over active brain comes up with more jobs. DS 2 has not appeared yet, DS making himself bacon buttys. Steak and chips with mushrooms and peppercorn sauce for dinner. Then sorting work stuff etc oh and a quick dog walk when cooler. Wine or gin then bed !

Crunchymum · 12/05/2024 11:59

Oh gosh Downtoyou

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Life just doesn't make sense sometimes.

I hope you are able to take solace and comfort in the fact your DS was loved for every second of his short life and that you were his world ❤️

ssd · 12/05/2024 12:10

I'm so very sorry @Downtoyou

Jeezitneverends · 12/05/2024 12:15

Washing’s all up to date, we go on holiday tomorrow so I need to pack-minute cabin bag (Ryanair🙄) so that’ll take 5 minutes.
Im away to go out on my own for a bit, not in a good place in my head due to some family issues, and it’ll just be me and dh on holiday, so I need to get some space before we go

Whattheduck · 12/05/2024 12:33

Relaxing morning here Dh is away with work for 4 weeks so just myself and Dd (19)
Was awake at 5.30 so hung some washing out and put another load in
Went back to bed and listened to a couple of podcasts then got up at 8.30
Had an almond croissant with black cherry jam and a coffee
Made a cooked breakfast for Dd as she is going to work for a few hours then going to see a friend she might stay over or I’ll pick her up tonight
Going to go and see my mum and my aunty this afternoon
Will hoover and mop the floors when I get back then take the dog out this evening for a walk
Leftover lasagne for tea with garlic bread
Will probably catch up with some tv later or read
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone

Q124 · 12/05/2024 12:37

Was out for an early morning run this morning, did some study, been to Tesco and now sitting down for a day of footy (Championship play offs, Man U v Arsenal). Not eaten yet as I do intermittent fasting but the chicken is in the oven for a chicken salad.

Thislittlekitten · 12/05/2024 13:23

@Downtoyou Im so sorry for your loss. It must be so difficult for you all.

Im at work today. Long shift for me today so once home tonight will sort uniforms and shower, tea and bed for me!

DH is out with the kids but home soon to relax as it’s been a busy week.

mondaytosunday · 12/05/2024 13:30

My son is visiting as my DD turned 19 Friday (😄). He woke me up at 7am (😣) to say cats were meowing should he feed them (they always have dry food but as soon as they hear someone get up they think it's breakfast time). But at least he later walked the dogs!
Then we walked to a local cafe for brunch - one full English, one breakfast wrap (scrambled eggs, bacon and cheese plus salad on the side), one chicken Caesar sandwich with chips. Yum! Now home and soon I'll be driving him to catch a ferry home (three hours round trip for me). It's been a good weekend but totally off my diet! Thinking of doing Fast 800 for a week...maybe 5:2 with restricted calories on the 5 days too.
