Lithium poisoning from cracked phone screen?Or OCD?

Guys, I know.. I know. Mad question but I have OCD and struggle with overthinking something to the max. So, I have been using my phone with a cracked screen for weeks. It's mostly fine apart from a yellow light around the cracks on the screen. I pressume this is due to it being damaged. Anyway, does a cracked phone screen leak lithium or is the battery stored somewhere else away from the screen? Am I overthinking this? My toddler was holding it this morning briefly before I took it out of his hands!? Someone talk some sense into me before I google it and spiral...

This is definitely your ocd.
The battery is completely separate to the screen. Have you not seen a phone battery? It's like a sealed little unit. Also, think about it for a sec, people crack their screens ALL the time. If there was a danger from lithium we'd know about it by now.

I've been using a phone with a (badly) cracked screen for well over a year, and I would guess about 1/4 of the population also are.

I have OCD too so I get it - but I really don’t think this is something you need to be worried about. The biggest likely risk from a cracked phone screen is it being sharp, but you would have already felt that.

You are not at risk of lithium poisoning from a cracked phone screen. Definitely not.

The battery is not going to leak lithium out through a cracked screen. Besides, whilst lithium poisoning is a thing, you need to ingest quite a lot of lithium - it's actually prescribed as medication for certain conditions (my dad was on it for years). Ironically perhaps, it's even been proposed as a possible treatment for OCD, though I'm not sure if it's actually progressed to seeking or being approved.

You’re absolutely not at risk. But if it helps you why not put a screen protector over it?
