Is there an easier way of getting my repeat prescription sorted?

I have 2 weeks left of my meds. Pharmacy2u where I usually get them won't let me order because last time I tried to order a week too soon (trying to be organised) and the website didn't like it so I had to go into the gp surgery and fill out the form. Now the website just says they are processing my previous order (from 6 months ago, I get 6 months worth of meds at a time) and won't let me order any more.

I can't use the nhs app because I don't have photo id. The surgery don't let you phone to order prescriptions any more. Boots used to order the repeats from the surgery but they don't do it anymore either.

The surgery is a pain to get to on a bus that turns up whenever it feels like so the round trip will take around 1.5 hours. Then again next week to pick up my meds. This is the closest surgery and pharmacy. I don't mind doing this if it's the only option but I'm wondering if there is a more efficient way.

Is the processing alert new? Could that order be delivered?

I email my surgery for my monthly prescription and it's send to my local pharmacy, usually within 24 hours. Is this a possibility?

I use Lloyd Direct. I have a regular repeat prescription for a long term condition and I've never had any issues getting the repeat done - except when there have been medication stockouts. You just go online, click the button, and Lloyd's sorts it with your surgery (with mine, it's approved in one business day) and then it's shipped and arrives in the post very promptly. It's really simple and user friendly. It sounds like you need to cancel the first order with the pharmacy because somewhere it's stuck in the system. You may need to ring or go physically to them. But when I set up my Lloyd's account, I didn't do anything other than tell them the prescription I needed and my surgery and they sorted it all out behind the scenes with the surgery, so no need to ring them or go in person.

My GP have a little paper form for people who can't use the app, and a box to pop it in so you don't have to queue.

Does your GP surgery use Patient Access? I ordered my prescription online using Patient Access on Sunday, it gets sent electronically to our local Boots, they text me on Wednesday to say it was ready to collect.
It wont help you for this prescription because it takes a few days to set up an account, but it could be worth setting up for future prescriptions.
You don't need photo ID to set up an account and the only trip you have to make is to collect your medication.

Thank you everyone. I've checked with the surgery website and they don't use patient access or email for prescriptions. It's the nhs app (which I can't use without photo id) or go into the surgery. So I'm going to the surgery on monday.

I have used Lloyds Direct for a couple of years now - no problems - but in the last couple of months it has changed to Pharmacy2U - I just had to change my password. Is yours still with Lloyds? I'm just wondering if this might be a regional thing.

Pharmacy2U seem ok so far but it's early days.

You can set up without photo id

I email the doctors surgery and have it sent to my nearest chemist/boots
Much easier
