School shoes for teenager

Ds needs new school shoes. He would like Nike Airforce 1s and says that's what everyone at his school wears. They seem to be about £100 which is not the budget I had in mind. Anyone got any advice of how to get them cheaper or other shoes to buy? Thank you!

As long as he has black leather Nike trainers and not some shiny slip on brogues he'll be fine I'm sure!

AF1s are not indestructible my child has worn through his in 2 terms both years.

AF1 or Nike 270s here although the 270s are slowly fading out (which annoys my son as apparently they are way more comfortable 😂)

I wish DS's school allowed AF1s. They don't! DS is a size 13, and we end up usually getting plain black lace ups from H&S workwear type suppliers, which fit for length, but are really wide and need lots of insoles. He wears AF1s out of school, and they fit him much better. School dress code for shoes is "shoes your grandad would wear to a funeral". They show examples of what is acceptable on the school website, none of which are available in a 13. O
