How much do you pay for your broadband /tv?

Just that really. I’m looking to reduce our outgoings and feel like we pay way too much for tv / broadband. Trying to make sense of what we could save is driving me nuts!
We have 3 TVs (dont judge 😂), use Virgin, have all the sports available and pay over £150 a month. Is that a lot??? We do have BT full fibre in our area so could change to that.

There was a thread asking this question a couple of days ago, I'll see if I can find it and link it

£20 BT social tariff. £25 if I wanted to add TV but I don’t see the point with freeview and streaming apps

Thanks! I should have done a search first 😂

I pay £36 for broadband, landline included, mobile included.

I use Plusnet for internet and broadband. I don't have a landline, so don't need to pay for that. I pay just over £30 per month

£0 while still on an introductory deal from Community Fibre (1 Gbit) , but shortly rises to £28.

Five times faster than Virgin, and half the price.

Cotswoldbee · 07/05/2024 08:23

EE full fibre 900Mb & TV.
£33pm.

OldTinHat · 07/05/2024 08:27

£16.50 social tariff for fibre broadband. No TV subscriptions apart from TV Licence.

£150 pm is insanity.

I've just signed up with full fibre with Sky and it's about £25 a month, plus Quidco cashback.

For TV, we usually have one or two of Netflix, Now, Disney plus etc. We do also pay for the TV licence because there's quite a few things on the BBC I like. Now TV is always on a deal for much less than the headline rate - we've had it on and off for years and never paid more than half the full amount. So around £50 pm in total for everything.

But your problem could be that the household sports fan needs all the sports, which I think is the expensive part. I'd make them pay for it out of their personal money, rather than family money, especially if you need to reduce your spending.

Haha - you're not wrong! We combine our income and share it out - for example, my Mumsnet and Times subscriptions both come from the joint account, he never watches Netflix or Prime which I do, I spend far more on clothes than him. Swings and roundabouts really.

I use sky stream and pay £26 a month which includes netflix, not sure how much extra to add sports channels and that is just one tv. Then pay £24 a month for broadband internet with sky as well.

VelvetTurtle · 07/05/2024 13:34

£20. I don't watch tv so that's just broadband
